  1. Could use a nice long inning here to maybe knock Kuroda out of it.
  2. 60 through 4. How much longer you think he's good for?
  3. That's pretty interesting.
  4. I think 3 or 4 on the board should be enough tonight.
  5. We got Kuroda up over 70 at least.
  6. Just hook one over the little league fence, Salty.
  7. I think the most correct thing to say is that it's a muddy argument that isn't an easy thing to completely prove from either side. At least in my opinion.
  8. I consider myself to be very SABR minded but Ive never quite been able to completely disavow the idea of clutch hitting. I think its just human nature. We've all been in spots in life where we feel extra pressure and I'm not willing to completely disagree with the notion that some guys are better suited in those spots than others. I could just be stuck in old school nostalgia though and be completely wrong too.
  9. That's what I thought. Well, you made a typing error and therefore your entire point has now been rendered moot. Sorry and better luck next time.
  10. I'm guessing there's a typo somewhere in there.
  11. I guess it would be not making an out. Also, I never thought of clutch as an ability to raise your game but as an ability for it not to dip in big moments. Which I suppose initiates the argument as to whether choking exists.
  12. What would you call Ortiz, then? Not arguing just curious.
  13. That guy is an ugly looking SOB.
  14. My point exactly . I've done some reading and it is an indeed a very muddied conversation. I guess the simplest definition would be coming through in a big situation and someone being clutch is a person who possesses it as an ability or at least gives off that appearance.
  15. This point brings up another debate. To what extent does clutch exist? A pretty interesting conversation IMO.
  16. Cheering Yankees fans has to be among the most unpleasant sounds on the planet. Right up there with incoming mortar fire.
  17. I wish I could make posts like this. I'm just not smart enough.
  18. Iggy's arm is pretty impressive when you consider how small he is.
  19. Perhaps but like you said, he's not close to Dustin's level. Pedroia is a perennial GG type fielder.
  20. He has a great arm, no arguing that, but the numbers don't lie. It's like Jeter, he may look pretty in the field but he's actually not very good with the glove.
  21. Not to mention Pedey does all of this while being the size of a garden gnome.
  22. His metrics are consistently below average. Fangraphs has him at -28.8 UZR for his career.
