  1. Do we have to use pictures of naked dudes when we're losing? Because if so, I'm unregistering right now.
  2. Great article on Ranaudo - http://www.weei.com/sports/boston/baseball/red-sox/alex-speier/2011/04/26/going-places-sox-top-pitching-prospect-anthony
  3. Our rotation matches up brilliantly over the next week. Buch - Beckett - Lester all throw @BAL, and then we go home and see DiceK - Lackey - Buchholz throw vs SEA. Career numbers against BAL: Buchholz: 5-2, 2.98 ERA, including 15 shutout innings in 2010 and a no hitter in 2007. Beckett: 6-3, 3.53 ERA, 14 IP, 2.57 ERA in 2010. Career 2.94 ERA @Camden Yards Lester: :shock:13-0:shock: 2.33 ERA. Career numbers against SEA: DiceK: 2-1, 4.11 ERA. I think he'll throw another gem, though. Lackey: 13-9, 3.64 ERA. In 2010, Lackey was 1-0 with a 1.13 ERA in 16 IP. Buchholz: 1-0, 2.92 ERA. In 2010, Buch was 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA in 7 IP. So in our next 6 games, we only have 1 pitcher who has posted a 4+ ERA against the team he's facing, but if he stays on track, I'd say he'll be fine. LAA and TOR both have much better offenses than SEA, so if he can contain them, here's to hoping he can do the same with SEA.
  4. I guess since we're not allowed to post anything detrimental to the Yankees in the Optimism thread, I will go ahead and post it here. After starting the season 2-10, the Red Sox are now only 3 games back on the Yankees, and it's only April 25th.
  5. If the Red Sox weren't a religion, I'd change teams if A-Rod was on the Sox.
  6. That kind of seemed uneventful
  7. And we get to the White Sox biggest question mark. The closer.
  8. I never wish anyone hits the dl or gets hurt. What I'm saying is that once a player hits the dl, I'm optimistic about the potential for the red sox to make up any ground that they lost through poor play.
  9. Why not? He is on our rival team and his replacement (Colon) is not nearly as good as Hughes was in 2010. Any Yankee weakness is reason for optimism for the Sox
  10. Looks like Hughes got another set back in his rehab. Hughes (arm) had a significant setback during Monday's bullpen session and was visiting with a physician afterward, Ben Shpigel of the NY Times reports. Spin: We'll await the results of his examination, but this almost certainly eliminates the possibility of an early May return to action.
  11. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2011/04/24/crawford_wont_stay_down_for_long/
  12. I read somewhere that Crawford has stopped answering his cell phone half the time because all he hears is advice on his batting stance and how to get back into the swing of things. Everyone is an expert. Like you said, he's a career .300 hitter basically, he'll figure it out.
  13. Would it really surprise anyone if, over the next 6 games, the Sox went 5-1 and were 15-12 on May 1st? The only game that concerns me in the least right now is Felix on Sunday, and even that game I could see us winning because of the lack of offense on the Mariners. We've got a really soft spot in our schedule over the next 6 days and we have got to exploit this opportunity to pick up even more ground. Fenway South will be overtaken this week, and hopefully this team takes Theo's back and destroys Buck and the O's. Coming home with a record over .500 would get that crowd going.
  14. The Red Sox has a team Starting Pitching ERA of 3.84. Before the Toronto series started, our Starting Pitching had an ERA of 6.95. So, in 10 games, our SP ERA dropped by 3.11 points. So incredibly sick.
