  1. The point is that you and RSFFL are reacting to a few reactionary posts because of the 2 run HR, the line up, and the opposing pitcher. It's not like we've all stopped rooting for the Red Sox. But realistically, we have a really low chance of coming back with this line up.
  2. Dude. 2 runs against Cliff Lee with our 5-9 hitters going McDonald - Varitek - Cameron - Scutaro - Beckett IS getting pounded. McDonald left f***ing 14 runners on base in TWO games against Pitt. Francona put out a s***** line up and gave Beckett zero room for error.
  3. By the way, if the Red Sox do, in fact, lose, nobody is going to be coming in here rubbing it in, saying "I called it, I told you. You said we had a chance, we never had a chance", but if the Sox come back, that's exactly what you'll be doing. Just because we think 2 runs is too much to overcome against Lee with our line up doesn't make us hate the team....it's called realism.
  4. So nobody is allowed to talk about how we're behind the barrel here? Clearly it's a reactionary comment, due to the line up that Francona put out and the opposing pitcher. You need to chill out dude.
  5. Have you seen our 5-9 hitters? And did you see who is pitching against us? If this is a game where we have Ortiz, Reddick, Crawford, etc in there, definitely not game. McDonald hitting 5th? Well that takes Youk's bat out of it. Varitek - Cam - Scut - Beckett following that? We don't have 7 innings left. We have about 3, the rest are auto-outs. Didn't you see Friday's game against Pitt? We couldn't push runs across against Maholm, but you think we'll push 3 across against Lee?
  6. You really thin this line up is going to score 2 against Lee? You do realize that Ells Pedey Gonzo only have 3 more AB, and Youk only has 3 more walks?
  7. Oh. My. God. I want to beat the s*** out of Darnell and Cameron. Edit. And Francona.
  8. 4 straight balls to Youk 6 straight strikes to McDonald/Varitek. Shocked.
  9. I know! He walks Youk so mysteriously and then comes back and pounds the zone against Darnell. How odd. Get the f***ing bat off your shoulder you complete bum.
  10. Here's how the night's going to go for the most part: Ells - Fly Out Pedroia - Walk Gonzo - Single Youk - Walk D-Mac - GIDP Next Inning: Varitek - Single Cameron - Pop out Scutaro - Pop Out Pitcher - Strike out. Rinse and repeat.
  11. Adrian Gonzalez's batting average is 24 points higher than our 5th hitters OPS. Solid decisions, Francona. Well thought out. You think you're going to get killed worse by putting Gonzo in RF than you are by putting Mac in the 5th hole?!?
  12. I cannot fathom what the f*** Francona is thinking. It's honestly as if he's trying to throw the game. It really is unbelievable.
  13. They announced it on the radio
  14. I almost don't want to watch this game anymore. I'll probably have my head in the toilet all night. f***ing retarded.
  15. Oh. My. God. McDonald is hitting 5th, Varitek hitting 6th, Cameron hitting 7th, Scutaro 8th, Beckett 9th. What the hell Francona. Seriously. What the hell. This infuriates me. Absolutely infuriates me.
  16. Heard about this too. He's a 25 HR, .290 hitter. His OPS would probably be helped out by playing at Fenway. Pretty even career splits (.286 vs LHP, .291 vs RHP). Probably would be a good addition. Arbitration eligible for the first time in 2012. Doesn't hit FA until 2014. Would probably cost a boat of prospects because the Astros overvalue him.
  17. PHILLIES VS. LEE Marco Scutaro (30 plate appearances): .320 BA/.414 OBP/.400 SLG, 2 doubles, 3 strikeouts David Ortiz (26): .240/.269/.360, 3 doubles, 6 strikeouts Kevin Youkilis (23): .263/.391/.579, 3 doubles, 1 home run, 4 RBIs Jason Varitek (13): .250/.308/.333, 1 double, 6 strikeouts Dustin Pedroia (12): .364/.417/.455, 1 double, 2 RBIs J.D. 18. Beckett vs Lee. If Cam and D-Mac are in this game, I'll be handing out paper bags to puke in, and mason jars of moonshine to forget the night. Just win.
