  1. Actually, it is. But I'm not going to try to sell it to you. If you don't want to believe that his .335 BABIP translates to him being unlucky, then I am not going to sit here and try to convince you.
  2. Gotta have a DP right here.
  3. God this is happening again, isn't it?
  4. This umpire is kind of ridiculous.
  5. He's been bad and unlucky.
  6. The Phils would obviously have to eat about $5mm of the deal/year. The Sox need a veteran pitcher to lead the staff. I can see Hamels and Greinke both falling under Beckett's wing, whereas a guy like Lee can lead the staff. I originally thought Lee was losing it, but his K/9 and BB/9 are much better than in years past. Lee slots the SP in the right slots, and an ace can turn this team from mediocre to elite.
  7. It really is amazing, though, that the Sox have played like dogshit the past 2 nights and are still just 2.5 games out. At some point they have to take advantage of the fact that nobody is running away with the WC, and pick it up and run away with the WC. I still say they call up the Phillies and see what it takes to get Cliff Lee. That's a game changer, and he's around for 4 or 5 more years. I know a lot of people want to be sellers, but even if we're sellers, we still need an ace that can lead the young pitchers.
  8. Not to mention that Nava is hitting .059 since the ASB, and .122 in July. Even if Crawford and Middlebrooks weren't producing at their normal levels, they still have the ability to bounce back to those levels at any AB. Punto and Nava don't have that ability.
  9. I agree that not everyone is going to play all 162, but you have to pick and choose your spots to sit people. Like after you've taken 2/3 from the ChiSox. Not after you've lost 2/2 vs the Jays. This is terrible management by Valentine.
  10. this is just pure s***. i almost want to sell at this point
  11. have i overestimated this team?? even with their healthy players, they still are terrible. this is depressing
  12. No K's please. Just no K.
  13. Oye. Another 86-88 mph pitcher. Cook better be on his game.
  14. It really is pathetic that Cook can have 7 pitch, 1-2-3 innings, but Lester and Beckett can't get out of the 1st without allowing a crooked number.
  15. First pitch at the knees. Good, good sign.
  16. Alright Cook. Lets have a quick, easy outing.
  17. Haha. No, I would have apologized anyway, but that is funny.
  18. Hey - Semper may have ignored me. So if someone could quote that comment so he sees it, that'd be awesome. Thanks guys.
  19. Ceremony. It's 70 and beautiful in Boston.
  20. Tek is at the podium, just left. Probably starts at 7:20 or so.
  21. Hey Semperfi - I know we have different opinions on a lot of s***, and we got in a bit of an argument over Crawford yesterday - Just wanted to say I probably made some personal attacks yesterday that were unwarranted, so I'm sorry for that - more out of frustration about the Sox playing like crap than anything else. Anyway, just wanted to apologize.
