  1. SlasherB, Sorry mate its that ill informed attitude about the Scottish game that makes me livid, you seem to be another English fan that believes the hype surrounding the EPL. Celtic are a truly massive club, i suggest bigger than Liverpool (easily) but i am biased, when the bubble bursts in the EPL just wait and see the clamour for the old firm to move south to prop up the most corrupt and bankrupt league in the world. If Platini gets his way, the debt ridden behemoths of the European football will be well and truly hamstrung, and well run clubs like Celtic, Dortmund, Ajax, Eindhoven, etc,etc will have a better chance. The best league in Europe IMHO is the Bundesliga in Germany, low cost to watch with ultra modern stadia and a decent standard of football to watch, with 6 or 7 teams challenging for the shield every year. Look beyond Engurlund, the world cup shows us the true state of your national game, no where near as good as Murdoch and Sky would have us believe, Scotish football is of a poor standard of that i agree with you, but we suffer absolutely by proximaty to the EPL. The quicker the bubble bursts and the likes of Bolton, Blackburn, Fulham, Stoke, Wigan et al go back to there natural state the better it will be for British football!
  2. Hello all, lets hope the red sox make the post season next year, and I hope the Giants go on to win the world series if they can see off the Phillies!
  3. Between innings check out our Ultras in action on youtube, FORZA GREEN BRIGADE,FORZA CELTIC ! Green Brigade - Celtic Ultras!
  4. Phillies keep leaving base runners stranded, not a great habit to get into!
  5. LFCFan, That is what is crippling the game, the endless pursuit of money, yes the Uefa rules will change some of the financial madness that envolpes your game, but not all. Has the world cup taught you anything, the endless hype by Sky and the written press gives a massive miss-impression of the EPL, yes there are good games, but there are some rank rotten ones as well. Look at the press out to get Capello, its madness, paying players 100K per week no wonder so many clubs are teetering on the brink, Celtic have no debt a 60,000 seater stadium a season ticket base down now to around 43000 from 55000 2 years ago, we cannot even qualify for the Europa league. We cannot compete with Championship clubs when it comes to paying wages, a club with the history and European stature as ours, we suffer absolutely from the madness in your game, so maybe i am biased. Look at the cost of watching a game in the premiership, you need a bloody mortgage just for a season ticket! i have an adult and child season ticket which cost 400 quid for both, how much does it cost to watch Liverpool? I just think that when the ownership of your club goes into the hands of an investment house with absolutely no emotional attachment to your club it is a very dangerous thing, and i am also a red sox fan and i just cant see it being good for us. gebhoy
  6. I wouldnt say i have a soft spot for any English football (soccer) team, if i had one it would be for Liverpool. I am a Glasgow Celtic fan. English football is slowly strangling the European game by its over inflated self worth and the ridiculous amounts of money that the English clubs throw about. You have to ask where does NESV see any profits coming out of this investment and what is the possible effects on the sox? Liverpool need a new stadium, Anfield has maxed out its capacity and is a poor venue by modern standards, the team itself is a poor shadow of the side that won the Champions League a few years ago, in Hodgson they have a good solid manager with backing will do a good job for them. All these things cost $$$$$$$$$, if NESV are investing the money you need to, to compete in the English Premeirship then surely that is money that they will not be invested in Boston. Liverpool fans are deluding themselves that NESV are the saviors of the club, the money needed to compete with both Manchester clubs never mind Chelsea is in the hundreds of millions every season, if Gillet and Hicks could not turn a profit, how can NESV?, all be it that NESV are not leveraging the buy out! I just have a bad feeling that this acquisition will not be good for either club.
