  1. Hi guys just checking in etc etc, exciting day yesterday , I guess some of you may have heard via NESN but FSG spent ?57.8 Million on 2 strikers! good times although it was a bit of a shame to get rid of Fernando Torres to Chelsea, however ?50 million softens the blow a bit lol.
  2. Any Lakers fans in the house then? I always used to like watching Shaq O'Neil and more recently Kobe Bryant tear up the NBA! Wiki search tells me O'Neil is now playing for the Celtics (well I never) but the greatest NBA player of my generation has to be Jordan of Chicago Bulls fame. Actually does anyone know where one can find a decent stream for NBA games? Ta PS I forgot to mention lil Scottie Pippen of the Bulls, he was also class player too and one I used to like watching through my school years.
  3. Whats all this "hotstove" stuff then guys? is it like hot off the press ie insider knowledge?
  4. I agree Liverpool are a bigger club, however you can't deny their following and international ambitions, every year i always wonder if they could just do a little better in the CL and take their culture to the different stages they may just attract a lot more fans AND more potential suitors wanting to put some cash into what is undoubtedly another Great British institution!
  5. Will have to get up there in the new year, last game we went to was the Chav game @ the end of the season and needless to say it was quite demoralising!
  6. Hey Kopite did you hear about the damage to Kuyt's car, apparently caused by a horse sitting on it?
  7. Now then is Linda Mr Henry's ahem "significant other" ?
  8. Hey Redguard, I just read your post re shirt sponsorship deals for Celtic and Glasgow Rangers and I seem to recall both teams having also shared Carling as a sponsor in the past few seasons, this prompts my question on the subject: Do the the 2 biggest clubs in Scotland share such a deal as neither one has the resources (and public exposure) to promote a unknown company willing to pay a hefty price for their services? Don't get me wrong I think both clubs are huge in a footballing sense, but with Liverpool being a world renowned outfit (no offense intended to either Glasgow clubs) I think they are able to negotiate more cash from a company such as "Standard Chartered" to be seen by potentially MILLIONS usually twice a week, than Tennent's being seen by half of Scotland and a few hundred thousand other well informed fans across the globe. Hope that did not sound too obnoxious, I was just offering an opinion!
  9. OP is your beloved club called Celtic Soccer club? geez I wish people would stop calling it that!
  10. I'm not sure yet whether getting rid of Hodgson will solve our woes at the moment, however I don't think it will do any harm as Torres had a dire game yesterday and had about 1 decent chance off the head from a excellent cross in from Cole which was tipped over the bar. Instead of taking off his star player, instead he takes off Lucas who had quite a good game and deserved to stay on, not to mention he had at least 2 shots which could have gone in IMO. To summarise yesterdays game was simply not good enough from the players POV and the managers decisions made on subs, I hope Henry can see the prediciment we are in and gives us a decent transfer budget of about 40 Million pounds!
  11. A warm welcome to Glenn and Camellia, hope you guys enjoy the forum as much as I do so far!
  12. Here are some photos of Anfield from in and around the stadium. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-ash1/v335/22/64/808333975/n808333975_1373681_5848.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-ash1/v335/22/64/808333975/n808333975_1373683_6562.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v335/22/64/808333975/n808333975_1373684_6880.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v335/22/64/808333975/n808333975_1373685_7202.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v335/22/64/808333975/n808333975_1373686_7540.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-ash1/v335/22/64/808333975/n808333975_1373688_8308.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-ash1/v335/22/64/808333975/n808333975_1373689_8645.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v335/22/64/808333975/n808333975_1320576_5568.jpg One of my favorites http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v272/22/64/808333975/n808333975_1068260_2504.jpg Enjoy!
  13. What's worse he claimed that Rafa lost the club, excuse me? fooking prat! once he has settled all the court fees, and possibly been sued for slander by every Liverpool fan for branding us "Internet Terrorists" maybe he will be forced to file for bancrupcy! :harhar:
  14. The derby is on Sky Sports 1 & HD1 tomorrow at 1.30 GMT, get yourself over to the lfc reds forum using this link http://www.lfcreds.com/reds/index.php?topic=1288.2400 they usually find a decent live stream somewhere in asia for most games. I read on Friday morning that Hicks had sold his shares to Mill, however they were unable to complete the deal as they still needed a majority board vote (of which H&G are outvoted 3-2) in addition the Premier League have a "Fit and Proper" test for owners and directors. The details of the test are myriad but the most important points forbid anyone with unspent criminal convictions relating to acts of dishonesty or someone who has taken a football club in to administration twice from taking charge of a football club, which the PL refused to do as they did not receive any instruction to do so from the board. I know this sounds cheesy and expected, but I am actually really excited at what I believe NESV can achieve at our club, John Henry seems like a genuine and passionate guy and thats just what we need right now.
  15. Good post there Vigil couldn't have said it better, it's just a shame this has become such a blood bath over the last few years and as a lifelong Liverpool fan I can honestly say I was really worried H&G would block the sale to NESV and somehow sell to the Mill Financial, it really does feel like a weight of our shoulders. Not sure if you guys have heard about our "not a penny more" campaign on all LFC merchandise during the last year or so, but now we have new owners, the official website http://www.liverpoolfc.tv is currently offering 20% off everything in the online store! that means a 42 pound shirt is now only 33.60 ($53.70) (just in case anyones interested) we also have a decent range of polos, hoodies, dress shirts etc etc, check it out. Catch ya later Andy
  16. Just like to say Welcome to Liverpool FC to NESV and the whole Red Sox Nation! Please note that not all us Liverpool fans are arrogant, stupid or just plain immature unlike some of the so called "fans" who have posted such rubbish like "Im not sure I want Liverpool FC to be owned by someone who cant spell the word "socks" properly!" If fans of either club want to break free of the old us v them stereotype, I think there has to be a certain level of maturity and I really hope the majority of fans take the time to teach each other about their loves of their respective games, if not why bother joining a forum such as this one just to wind people up! Looking forward to a very bright future together!
  17. Apparently John Henry is in attendance at the LFC board meeting in London tonight, here goes...... well I guess it's mid afternoon in Boston now.
  18. BREAKING NEWS FROM SSN (SKY SPORTS NEWS) Spokesman for NESV has confirmed that they welcome the court decision and have a "binding contract" with the Liverpool board, almost a done deal. In addition to this the other bid from Peter Lim is still onb the table (320m GBP + 40m GBP for transfers) however his deal has only been registered since the court case was announced. He has also said he may seek legal action if his bid is not considered once the board is reconstituted. Hold the front page!
  19. I heard about this possible upgrade to Anfield and I think it will be a much better option to build a new stadium in Stanley Park (like H&G promised) although it would be a wonderful option to just upgrade, I think the strain on the local area may be too great as it would possibly mean stretching the ground in an already enclosed area of the city. The added benefit of building a new stadium would be the scope for a much larger capacity, not only to bring in more revenue but to give more Liverpool fans like myself a better chance of getting a regular seat (I think the season ticket waiting list is like 10+ years atm) and looking at what NESV have done @ Fenway park, I can't wait to see their plans for us!
  20. Our very own thread! thanks Red Sox and hello from the a fairly anxious Liverpool fan. (decision day today) I have to admit I have never really been big on Baseball, but I think the most well known team over here is the Yankees (can I say that or is it like us saying Skum United?) having read your incredible history and illustrious past I am starting to see a different story, one of a baseball team that has been through a very long spell without success and lived in the shadow of your arch rivals, one of great courage and togetherness. I don't know how you guys feel about this whole possible takeover, but I really think NESV could be the right match for our club and helping us get back to where we belong, not only that but also getting involved with the community and local charities like they do with the Red Sox. Even if the deal does not go through, I have found a new baseball team to follow and would like to know more about what clearly is a truly inspirational team! Andy
  21. Amen to that my friend!
  22. Hey guys, Liverpool fan here eagerly awaiting the verdict of the whole RBS V Hicks and Gillette case! On a lighter note though, what's is the Red Sox fan's view on the NESV bid?
