  1. This is true - take note lads, humour is fine but don't offend. We are guests here. Some times the humour can be a bit raw.
  2. Love it. Well in.
  3. Doug Ellis turned down the original approach from George Gillett - he could recognise a rat! A rat ..... Dodgy deal, or Little fluffy squeaky rodent of unsavoury origin - likes to get its teeth into others.
  4. I like the sound of that. G&H are just toxic and unfortunately a lot of our contempt for them has been misconstrued as Anti-American - which we are clearly not. Thanks for your input Dojji.
  5. I have a different word for the Mother-in-Law!
  6. Thanks for that mate.
  7. Official Government Report "The Taylor Inquiry" .............. http://www.fsf.org.uk/uploaded/publications/pdfs/hillsborough%20stadium%20disaster%20final%20report.pdf
  8. Agreed mate. Come on lads tell us about him please.
  9. And all totally refuted by the lads & girls in the South Yorkshire Police who were present. It was the pond-life media who were stirring it and these allegations were later proved to be totally unfounded. Full Inquiry by Lord Justice Taylor absolved Liverpool Fans of any blame. What is your problem?
  10. It's quite sunny here. You need to get out more and enjoy life.
  11. Loads of history in Liverpool. During WW2 the longest battle 1939-45 was controlled from the underground bunker in Derby Square, Liverpool. Also the most heavily bombed area in terms of square mile was the Pier Head and buildings surrounding, even including London & other cities. When I was a kid there were wrecks all over the Mersey estuary, all the beaches were fortifide with gun emplacements, tank traps, pill boxes & barbed wire. The city got hammered and has never really been re-built. We paid a terrible price for freedom. During WW2 we had the largest merchant navy, many registered in Liverpool. Anyone remember the famous shipping lines?
  12. This is quite interesting. I'll do some research with a mate who is fairly tuned in. I vaguely recall something like this being mentioned quite recently but I didn't pay much attention at the time..
  13. Heysel was a footballing disaster for which there is a great shame over innocent deaths. There was much violence prior to in a delapidated ground. As in the previous year many Liverpool people were stabbed by Roma fans. Not one Italian fan was stabbed. The violence continued the next year - Heysel. The police came under attack from the Juventus fans and at one stage a revolver was fired at them. A section of Liverpool supporters was infiltrated - they came under attack and they reacted. The Italian fans ran back after their attack and a wall collapsed under pressure. Add to this mix an infiltration of fans from around Europe who were seeking violence and had nothing to do whatsover with football, plus copious amount of alcohol and extremely poor policing tactics. Noteably Police Captain Johan Mahieu and Albert Roosens, 77, secretary of the Belgian Football Union, were both convicted of criminal negligence. Not one Italian fan was investigated for their part in the violence. The deaths could equally have occured in the Liverpool end. The stadium was demolished shortly after due to health & safety issues. English football has moved on. Sadly in Italy they have not learnt and violence is all too common with stabbings and fatalities of fans and Police officers continuing to this day. This does not in any way absolve those few Liverpool fans of blame who were involved 25 years ago.
  14. Actually mate, I meant to say that she's since moved over here. She likes the local beer and finds the houses quite quaint - "neat" she says. She likes Blackpool Football Club and the seaside - donkeys and rock. Now she lives in Merseyside. I took her to a Castle once and she thought that it was 'awesome.' She loves Liverpool though - friendly people and great humour. She even started to make Scouse when we were kids. She loves the idea of us being associated with the Red Sox - she pulled me up on the spelling as over here we say 'socks.' In America I think they call them stockings, though I'm not sure - it can get confusing. Big wave to you Slasher mate.......
  15. My Mum is not far from Boston - Pensicola. She has relatives in the USA and when she found out that she can fly there she said that she'd be over soon. I would like to get to know the Red Socks better and pehaps some of our fans could come over and share some time together. I've got some VHS tapes somewhere of some American games, I could bring them too. Anyway, great that we'll be good mates soon and look forward to a long association. Best thing is that when we go travelling the people around the world will immediately connect our club with yours. Splendid stuff. Cheers. RG
  16. Hello Red Sox mates. I'm looking forward to our franchise being marketted with your franchise. We have a great sporting history and a very bright future together. We play football mainly in Europe and go on world-wide tours in the summer. We are looking forward to hearing about your investment in our club and a mission statement of our mutual global vision. Cheers. RG
