  1. Yeah, great points mate. We hardly ever hear or see him with regard to the Sox. He does his talking in signings for the team. Sad end to the season for us but with the injuries we had, we did a great job to get as close as we did. Only one sstarter on the last day that was there opening day. Glad Papi came around and shut the East Boston bridge jumpers the f*** up.
  2. It's being invaded by a bunch of wind up artists mate. The real Reds (Sox and LFC) are the ones asking and telling the great History and traditions of both sports teams. If you know nothing about LFC then let me answer your questions.
  3. You are VILE. And obviously have the S*n rolled up in your tatty arse pocket. Scum!
  4. Deffo a Manc fan..........!!! (Maybe a Bitter? or a Chav even?) :thumbdown
  5. Point very well made.
  6. EXCELLENT Post!!!! Agree totally!
  7. What would I do without your humor! Spot on, Blackpool Rock. Devil-ishly addicting!
  8. Spiffing old Boy, just a Spiffing darn post!!!! Tally Ho!!
  9. I have lived here for almost 15 years now and love the Red Sox. Liverpool Football Club is far more important to the people of the City than the Red Sox are here. That is not a "slight" in any way or an insult. Two different countries with different passions. Back home, we eat, drink, sleep football. Let's hope this is a great thing for Liverpool Football Club. Pre-season in America and games at Fenway (Like Cletic v Benfica recently). Games on NESN....sweet! Sounds great to me. My son will be really pleased!
  10. You want the RIGHT amounts spent on Transfers mate, read these Paul Tomkins etc. (I am not allowed to post links yet!) They are just a few of the more common sense you will read/hear. Why did you not include Villa? Martin O'Neill spent how much on that team.....? And left 5 days before this season.......???
  11. Well there it is. An Aston Villa fan. And that Is why? If you are like me, a Liverpool Supporter for almost 40 years, from that part of the world you would know that what you are saying is wrong mate. WHY are the supporters harassing the fans? Why are the club now in almost 300M in debt, when they had a working capital debt of JUST 40M in 2006/7? 60 days has LONG since gone since Gillett said the new stadium would be built for Liverpool. Creating jobs and bring better infrastructure to the city and enabling the team to compete with the likes of big spending Man. Utd, Chelsea and now Man. City. If you have never experienced being inside Anfield or the city of Liverpool and the passion WE show for the team then you should not make such harsh statements as above. Stand on the Kop and sing with the fans, cheer on the team sing the songs of Legends. Oh that's right all we do in Boston is sing "Let's Go Red Sox". And I Love My Boston Red Sox, even though I am not from here.
  12. Well for somebody "well versed in what's going on over the water in Britain with regards to Liverpool." you really have a LOT of points incorrect there mate. Jaypers, where to start........ 1) How do Red Sox fans feel about our legendary American institution propping up a sports club whose fans have been known to burn the stars and stripes? If you actually KNEW why that happened (a small majority of very frustrated and long suffering fans from the city) you would KNOW that it was NOT against the USA but with regard to a certain TOM HICKS. The former owner of the Texas Rangers, you know as much about that fiasco? The Dallas Stars? 2) How do Red Sox fans feel about our legendary institution propping up a soccer club whose fans were responsible for European football's most horrific act of hooliganism? This is the knd of link we don't need. AGAIN, totally sounding like the gutter press in England or a "fan" of such "Great teams" as Chelsea!!!! The Hysel disaster was a terrible, terrible event and yes, it is associated with Liverpool. Yet, if you knew anything about "football" in the 1980's in England you would know what happened. Most of the thugs during that were NOT Liverpool fans and more so the "bover boys/thugs" of ENGLISH football. Research the facts before making broad accusations. 3) Liverpool's football club are in freefall. Possibly they are on the brink of becoming a casuality of the world's finanacial crisis. Cancer has set in there and cancer spreads. I do not want the Red Sox putting themselves in a position whereby the cancer spreads to us and our great institution. We spent a long time getting ourselves fixed - getting into bed with a xenophobic, anti-American basket case of a sports club would be utter madness. Bailing out Liverpool would be like signing up Mike Tyson and OJ Simpson for our next PR campaign. Utter madness. AGAIN, facts are NOT true. Liverpool Football Club has such history, it's hard for people to comprehend. The fact that 3 years ago, Liverpool were the NUMBER 1 team in Europe rank. 2 European Cup finals in 3 years. 5 times winner of this world sought after competition. so MANY more accolades than you will ever know. Two AMERICAN guys, Tom Hicks and George Gillett came in and bought the club on borrowed money. (Read about Tom Hicks and his failed sports ventures.) They took the mighty Reds and basically have dragged the club into a mire. Liverpool Football Club are and have been the most successful club in England. Their fans are world wide, loved by millions. Read the history of the club and you will know what they mean to the working class people of the city. Liverpool Football Club is NOT just a "Sports Franchise" is is a lot more than you know. If you actually really were "well versed in what's going on over the water in Britain with regards to Liverpool"........
