  1. I used to like Simmons, but once he moved to LA he went off the range. SOme funny articles he had while I subscribed to ESPN Mag, (actually have my free shirt on now hahah). If I remember right, he chose Arsenal did he? I think LFC came in second. He loved their traditions.
  2. That's a DAMN FINE Avatar there matie! Spot on old boy! (Arsenal gave us a fine game in a 4-4 draw if I can recall!)
  3. Teddy Ball game. It's great sitting in the red seat at Fenway and looking back towards home plate. A f***ing LONG damn way to hit a baseball with a wood bat! A Sox Legend not unlike our own "CrazyHorse" or many of our Legends!!!!
  4. Yeah, they are pretty much up there mate. The Monster seats are very sought after and can go for $200 a pop! But, they sell out Fenway every game, rain or shine! It holds around 37K and is usually a good time when I go. The Company I work for had a "Employee Appreciation Day" there and it was a good time!
  5. Definitely a fantastic player. Oozes class. To think that he was given the media ringer when he came here from TB. Fantastic professional and will be missed.
  6. Liverpool new owner 'to move club's debts' in deal Liverpool's prospective new owner has vowed to clear the Premier League club's debts when it takes over. New England Sports Ventures (NESV) issued a statement saying it would move "all acquisition debt" away from the club if the ?300m bid succeeds. NESV - owners of the Boston Red Sox baseball team - confirmed its bid has been accepted by Liverpool's board. But Reds' owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett are trying to block the sale which they say undervalues the club. Hicks and Gillett are trying to replace Liverpool's managing director Christian Purslow and commercial director Ian Ayre with Hicks' son Mack and a business associate Lori Kay McCutcheon. Purslow, Ayre and chairman Martin Broughton are now consulting lawyers over whether they can resist the owners' attempts to replace them and force through a sale to the American consortium. NESV wants to help bring back the culture of winning to Liverpool FC New England Sports Ventures statement Its statement added: "NESV wants to create a long-term financially solid foundation for Liverpool FC and is dedicated to ensuring that the club has the resources to build for the future, including the removal of all acquisition debt. "Our objective is to stabilise the club and ultimately return Liverpool FC to its rightful place in English and European football, successfully competing for and winning trophies. "Since 2001, New England Sports Ventures has made successful investments in sports and entertainment properties. "Our portfolio of companies - including the Boston Red Sox and Fenway Park, New England Sports Network, Fenway Sports Group and Roush Fenway Racing - are all committed to one common goal: winning. "NESV wants to help bring back the culture of winning to Liverpool FC. "We have a proven track record, shown clearly with the Boston Red Sox. The team has won two World Series championships over the past six years. We will bring the same kind of openness, passion, dedication and professionalism to Liverpool FC." BBC Sports understands manager Roy Hodgson will be given time by the Massachusetts-based partnership to turn around the club's fortunes on the field, having dropped into the relegation zone after the weekend's defeat at home to Blackpool. If the sale goes through, they will assess the situation and it is thought Hodgson still retains the support inside Anfield. The NESV consortium is headed by multi-millionaire John W Henry The Premier League expects the hurdles for the takeover bid to be cleared this week. The club's current, much-criticised, American owners Hicks and Gillett, say the NESV bid - and a rival one from an Asian consortium - "dramatically undervalues" Liverpool's worth. NESV is thought to be offering about ?300m for the club, enough to pay back the ?240m of loans and ?40m of fees owed to Royal Bank of Scotland, which must be settled by 15 October else a penalty fee of ?60m will be due. Hicks and Gillett are believed to value the club at ?600m.
  7. I agree Red, just hating all the negative crap about LFC and the fans when the real ones are willing to talk about the topic. Either way, i am on a double win today, the Sox and Liverpool, good times ahead I hope! YNWA!
  8. This is what TRUE and REAL Liverpool Fans bring to the game.
  9. You have been negative from your first post mate. I doubt you need a translator. That's a bit OTT. The real fellas on here want to talk about the thread title, the messers and shitheads are only wind ups. It's a forum, the trolls will weed out in time and you will see the real LFC fans who are interested in what the Owners of the Red Sox will bring to our club. Hang in there and clean the waste out later when most are in bed! HUGE Red Sox fan!
  10. So go talk about Villa then, not Liverpool. Obsessed much! Like most!
  11. I said that about 200 postings ago. Stay on topic and the trolls will fall away......
  12. Well, where do I start on this....... Firstly, you are no "Friend" of mine! FACT! Secondly, you know sweet f*** all about me, my name or what I am a s a person! FACT! Now, I could search the web for Villa "truths" and come up with the same Wikipedia facts about Villa as you have. I don't need to as a Liverpool supporter, those things are bred into us. It appears to me, a non-fact on my part, that your "Irish" is as the Americans like to call, "Irish-American". Myself, I am 100% Irish, born, raised and educated there and eventually emigrated to the USA. So from what you post, you actually KNOW f*** ALL about "Sawcur" from back across the water. Especially with the comments regarding Liverpool, the fans and in fact actually anything you type. Now, saying that, I like many from "back home" are reared on Football and it becomes part of your life and soul. Breeds passion. Something I have YET to find with regard to sports fans over here to the same extent. Those closest to me don't even understand. There is nothing anti-American about Liverpool fans. Some are wary yes of another American coming in to run/own the club. But who would not after having the previous leech, Tom Hicks. Your vitriol towards my Club, Liverpool, shows that there is less class in a "supposed Aston Villa" fan than most of the new posters on here today that support Liverpool. Leave your "bitter" spewing at the door, I don't think it is warranted here! Oh yeah, you are "ALSO" not my "Pal". A previously used word, DOUCHE, suits you fine!
  13. Jesus Davey! Next you will be bringing up Northhampton and Blackpool. This is a distraction to that crap of late.
  14. And what a stadium that is in Baltimore. State of the art! Everything we hear so far and from my experience following the Sox I like this!
  15. Let's hope that now Liverpool can be seen on NESN. That would make this takeover even MORE sweet to me. Oh dear Lord, show the games!!!!! Rem Dog and Don, followed up by The Red Head Supersub!
  16. To anyone from this forum who are interested in some banter and finding out about the club back home. Go to this forum, bunch of great lads! http://scouse.forum-gratuiti.com/forum-index-c1/
  17. Not sure if youo fella's saw this from youtube yesterday. It really shows the feelings of the fans of Liverpool and the hurt that "former" owners G&H created.
  18. Easy Squeezy........Scouse Humor takes a bit getting used to. :D
  19. For some Sox Fans wondering if it will impact the team here in Boston. Interesting email here from debt specialist Andy on the difference between this takeover and the last one: "The debt is not so much of an issue. It's the ability to service that debt. Hicks and Gillette were/are too reliant on LFC to provide steady and sufficient income streams to cover the debt servicing costs and are not able to service the debt from other sources. The Glazers are having similar problems as their US property empire starts to unwind. "NESV may take debt on themselves but have capacity from all their businesses to service the debt with ease, and also have capacity to invest in LFC. In the long run, they will look for that investment to be repaid through increasing revenues and profitability. A new stadium could do that but needs investment. NESV can't be idiots in a the sports management arena if they have the Red Sox. They must see that the cost of the investment is outweighed by the returns, otherwise, why spend ?300m only to lose it?"
  20. ".....A Rat Fawlty, I saw a rat!..."
  21. I Like that! American Owners of Prem Football Teams in England that I know of. Randy Lerner-Aston Villa The Glaziers-Manure (Man Utd.) Kroenke-Part Owner Arsenal (29.9% shares is largest) Ellis Short- Sunderland
