TURBRIDGE (CBS) – Carl Beane, the public address announcer at Fenway Park has died after a car crash in Sturbridge.
Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early says the 59-year-old died in a one-car crash on Holland Road Wednesday afternoon.

Golfers from nearby Hemlock Ridge Golf Course called police at 12:39 p.m. to alert them to the crash.
A preliminary investigation shows that Beane’s Suzuki crossed double solid lines, left the road and hit a tree and a wall on Holland Road.
There were no other passengers in the car and no other vehicles involved.
Beane was born in Agawam and had been the announcer for the Red Sox since 2003. He worked for WBZ NewsRadio 1030 during the mid 90′s.
