    Mike Bibby will sign with the Heat after he clears waivers Wednesday, a source tells ESPN.com. Bibby is being courted by several contending teams, but the Heat are the best fit. They are desperate for a point guard that won't get rattled and can actually make an open jump shot when the Big Three are double-teamed. Bibby will eventually ascend to the starting job, but his fantasy value will be capped by a lack of shots and touches. Look for Carlos Arroyo to be handed his walking papers when/if Bibby signs.

    Free agent Troy Murphy will sign with the Celtics, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. Yahoo's Marc Spears reported that Murphy was signing with the Heat, but Stein says Murphy told him personally that Boston is the choice. The Celtics certainly have room for big minutes up front with Kendrick Perkins gone and both O'Neals hobbled, but Murphy hasn't really played since December. His 3-point/rebound upside is worth a speculative add while we see how Doc Rivers wants to play this and what kind of shape Murphy is in. The Celtics will officially announce the move Wednesday.

    i dont know if this has been posted yet but : According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, the Yankees and Twins have not spoken about a trade in over a month. The Yanks called the Twins about possibly acquiring Francisco Liriano sometime in January and the Minnesota front office apparently did some research on the Yankees' farm system, but talks stalled at one point and have not picked back up. It makes little sense for the Twins, who expect to compete in 2011, to trade their ace before the start of the regular season. Liriano is under contract through 2012.
