  1. My bad, my bad. Understood about the Lester/Buchholz back and forth. See what happens when you spend too much time around Yankees fans? Drew comes through.
  2. Oh, so sorry that that's what you all meant (that others have indeed noticed). I was being sarcastic when I said I'm the only one alive who realizes this, which I'd think goes without saying. Guess I'm just tired of having to make the case over and over again to Yankees fans...but then again this should be of no surprise, given their very thick skulls. Back to our regularly scheduled program, Lars' numbers the last 9 games look solid.
  3. More proof of Lester over Buccholz this year, in terms of who's been better: Lester - 29 GS (2 CG) 190 IP 9.85 K/9 3.36 BB/9 3.17 ERA 3.01 FIP 3.20 xFIP Buchholz - 26 GS (1 CG) 159.2 IP 6.20 K/9 3.55 BB/9 2.48 ERA 3.71 FIP 4.23 xFIP
  4. Jeter the cheater bitching about pitching now. Nice.
  5. The past three seasons, Jon Lester has a 3.23 ERA (3.26 FIP) 8.68 K/9 3.02 BB/9. Not counting Pedro, who was probably the greatest pitcher ever, you’d have to go back close to twenty years to find another Sox pitcher who has been as good over a three-year period. The Sox haven't had a lefty as good as Lester in half a century or more.
  6. Lester has had a better year than Buchholz. It's just a shame that I seem to be the only person alive who realizes this fact.
  7. PAPI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3-0 No Go, Nova!
  8. Come on Victor, right field porch as soon as he puts one over the plate.
  9. Put that in your pipes and smoke it, Bleacher Creatures.
  10. "Nova having problems with his control." -Dick Stockton Anyone else recall the Dick Stockton voice of the 80s just before and during all those great Celts playoff games? Good times...
  11. Swede power! Happy birthday Lars!
  12. Good eye, Nava. Wait a second here, Nova and Nava? Spanish translations: Nova = no go Nava = (go)nna go I'd say that's in our favor.
  13. Nova is slingin' it so far, Yankees fans. (Jinx, jinx, jinx...)
  14. Thus far = operative phrase.
  15. A-Rod bought those shades on St. Mark's Place for $12.99 last night while out singing karaoke with Cameron Diaz at Planet Rose.
  16. Make this Nova throw lots of pitches and we can get to their bullpen by the 4th. Damn it, Papi, the OTHER way next time.
  17. By the way, it's really f***ing hot in New York today. As in, I walked outside to drop off my dry cleaning and had to come back home to the AC immediately...couldn't even conjure up the energy to get an iced coffee at DD on the way home beforehand, just had to get out of the heat. 'Course, my hangover was probably the real culprit. Come on Papi, put us on the board.
  18. Lester sits em down 1, 2, 3. Come on lefties, let's go.
  19. Sorry, I must've missed the sarcasm memo. No worries. It's annoying that Kelly Shoppach picked today to get his first clutch hit of the season, or we'd have likely picked one up on the Rays today. Lester is a bona fide studly ace of epic proportions. Going out there and shutting down the top two offenses in baseball in his last two starts, giving up zero runs? Just outfreakingstanding.
  20. You never, ever give up a top young pitching prospect in your organization for an old relief pitcher. If Kelly isn't trade bait for something really meaningful, he projects to be the next Lester or Buchholz or Pap or Bard. He'll also be cost-controlled for years, just like these guys are. Kelly, if he continues to progress as people expect, will be treated the same way the Lesters and Buchs were when Theo was unwilling to move them for free agent and mid-season acquisitions. Aren't you glad now that the Sox brass correctly assesses and values its in-organization pitching talent? Theo's not the idiot here.
  21. And we crown thee King Felix. 1,2,3 strikeout to win it. WATER.
  22. I repeat: Thankfully, Vlad can't run. LMFAO!
  23. Thankfully, Vlad can't run.
