  1. The Red Sox are freed up a lot money with Peavy and Lackey contract ending, and the latter has a league minimum option. With only commitment to Buccholz, they can spend $20M+av to keep Lester. The key area is the number of years. If Lester seeks 6-7, he isn't returning.
  2. Did you hear that? Koji made quick work of those pesky Pirates, 14 pitches, 10 strikes, 2 punchouts. Perfect spring training start.
  3. O's bringing Cruz in. He'll probably make a few clown moments defensively to cost them during the season.
  4. Matt Barnes, strikeout stuff. Ease him in by giving him relief appearances. And hopefully Webster makes a turnaround in 2nd chance.
  5. O's owners are a joke. They got Davis, Jones, Machado, their window to compete is right now. I would be outrage if I root for the bird.
  6. Seems like you had fun. The Red Sox played many amazing ALCS games huh? Game 2 was also a thriller.
  7. Have this scout watch Uehara?
  8. With an infield that is projected for 3WAR? lol
  9. the dude who they traded Morales for.
  10. It is reported Tanaka trip to the US is over, he got a physical before he left.
  11. Red Sox could offer Tanaka an opt out after 4 year, which he will be just 29. It gives him a last shot at 1 final big contract. The Red Sox get arguably his peak performance before age 30.
  12. He is on the 40 roster, there is a chance if he own AA/AAA in the first half.
  13. Most of the big FA have signed before the winter meeting, this is what happen when the Yankees goes mad every other year. I suppose the next part now is the trading period.
  14. They lost some $50M in revenues since 2011 with down attendance. Their lux tax means absolutely nothing if they don't generate more revenues.
  15. 67CG. 20SHO. 2nono 1 being pefecto. Amazing career.
  16. Great move from the Yankees. That contract is so bad for so long.
  17. Good. If Bailey is back, he also need to agree to an option the team gets on him for 2015, similar to Lackey's.
  18. I sense Detroit is zeroing in on a OF FA, most likely Ellsbury.
  19. There is a report from NYT A-rod fail a 2006 test.
  20. Nationals Acquire Doug Fister From Tigers By Jeff Todd [December 2 at 6:47pm CST] The Nationals have acquired starter Doug Fister from the Tigers, a source tells Chris Cotillo of MLBDailyDish.com (via Twitter).
  21. s*** wrong place.
  22. 4.3M for maybe 10-20 innings from Bailey, that's irresponsible spending again. Now they will pay Dempster and Bailey close to 20M combine for 2014 for maybe 1WAR at best.
  23. That would f***ing blows for Boston. They lose a guy who is expected as their #2 starter to give them 200IP at above average. Lose their 20-30HR bat, and LOSE the #1 pitching prospect, who comes in handy when Clay's head explode. A rotation of Lester and follow by those guys could quickly erode. How many of them can you count on as 200 inning while at above average?
  24. Salty is fine. He's 29, coming into his prime.
  25. Yeah they lost their 1st rounder in addition to the pool money from it. The draft is trickier now with a penalty for spending overslot.
