    I think the balance is off for this team. That's why I suggest Crawford at 9, and that is also ORS's position in the quoted post. Ells/Pedroia/Agon/Youk/Ortiz/Lowrie/Drew/Catcher/Crawford is the ideal lineup right now. Ortiz/Drew following Youk back-to-back is a horrible idea that needs to stop, and it is killing Youk, and Crawford/Catcher/Scutaro is killing Crawford.

    I disagree. I feel like it is more like "There are 16 All-stars on this team. We'll carry you now, and you'll carry us later".

    I think you may be overlooking a certain Cy Young pitcher that is coming to town on Sunday. There is never going to be a "good situation" to pull him back up, because every series is going to throw either an elite righty, or a mid to high tier lefty at us, and even if he has a solid game one day, he might go an 0-fer after that. The simple fact of the matter is, keeping him low in the order takes the pressure off him.

    I'd take Manny in his prime over Crawford in his prime any day of the week, women's hormones and all.

    Look at his walk numbers. I think pitchers know how dangerous he is, and are putting effort to pitch around him.

    I don't think it is so much that this team is weak against lefties... but more so that this team's RH platoon options have been struggling big time. Mcdonald, Salty, and Cameron have done almost nothing all season offensively. I think this team definitely is expecting much more from them as the season continues, especially Cameron, who really should be killing LHP.
