You're comparing an injury-prone pitcher like Beckett to a pitcher that has been incredibly healthy for a decade and has pitched more innings than pretty much everyone. Beckett is not Halladay. He is not Sabathia. He is not Pedro. Comparing him to future hall of famers is not going to gain you any ground on this discussion.

On another note, Varitek is hitting .250 for his last 28 AB. It almost looks like he slumped for his first week or two, and since then is getting back to career averages. Considering the reports of minor injuries late in spring training, I think he might do well for the team offensively going forward-- as long as he gets rest.

Last time he left Beckett in for 125 pitches, and the following game, he pitched his worst game all season with reported arm soreness, and his start was pushed back a few days.

I hate it when players are brought up early, but Federowicz is a different case. You'll ruin his bat, sure, but we're not getting anything offensively from C to begin with. His defense is vastly more valuable than the full package we're getting from Salty.

Francona needs 10-20 games before moving a player. Crawford's time is coming, so just be patient. The problem with moving Pedroia is that there really aren't any great RHH options on this team to take his spot.

I heard a report that Kobe's wife convinced Gasol's fiance not to marry him, who proceeded to break it off. I dislike Gasol's neckbeard more than anyone, but that's low.
