Offense is just gone. I don't get it. We started the ALDS and the World Series hitting like the Red Sox and then proceed to fall into a team wide slump (except for Ortiz).
He would become the young Ellsbury that even hit for power sometimes and would steal home against us for walk offs every other time we went to new york. Players of one fifth of his caliber have donned the s*** stripes and become monsters against the Sox.
I'm telling you the only thing Ells has left is speed, he is declining. Any offer over 5/75 is stupid. I would have no problem letting him walk (to another division or league preferably.)
I have to say that other than stealing bases like crazy when he does get on, Ells never became the five tool superstar that I was sure he was going to be. The biggest issue is that he plays like he's afraid to hurt himself now.
Blue has there orders, the Sox need to make contact on anything hittable. Can't figure why MLB is pushing the cardinals so hard but hopefully it will all have been in vain in a few days.
