  1. Ca-NOWAY ;p Great play. Figured I'd say something just so I can get rid of these gigantic red letters at the top of my screen telling me to post.
  2. Found this interesting.. figured I'd throw it out here for everyone else to see. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=jp-signstealing100109&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
  3. No. He's done it his last 4 or so outtings.. he had a bump in the road. He's over it. I think theres a lot more question marks for the sox rotation / pen than the yankees right now...
  4. I do agree.. it was greedy on Posadas behalf, no doubt. But his ego got in the way, and obviously got the better of him. Posada was baited, he fell for it..
  5. No, no cloudy vision at all. Could he have walked away, yes. I'm not disputing that.. yes, it could have all been avoided. Yes, Posada could have been the bigger man, but he wasnt. You also said he ran to where he did out of instinct.. he was well aware of where he ran to. He antagonized him... its THAT simple. Posada had time to cool down, yeah.. but when you have someone come back pushing your buttons you'll get hot headed all over again. And yeah, he prolly knew he was coming, OBVIOUSLY.. so WHY would he purposely stand inbetween the yankees dug out and home plate?
  6. I'm not waving the blame from Posada.. let me quote a portion of my post. I swear, you and I have to be watching different videos.. he was NOT looking to the outfield the whole time. And yes he did look down the third base line. Ball gets hit, he turns and looks to the outfield.. he turns and jogs towards home, looks up, looks to the third base line. You notice a slight pause... his head STOPS and is looking towards third base.. he then turns his to the outfield for a very quick second.. then turns back around.
  7. Instinct of running behind home, MY ASS. http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090915&content_id=6987710&vkey=news_nyy&fext=.jsp&c_id=nyy Watch from 4:15 on... and LISTEN to what is discussed from 3:55 on. That explains enough right there.. watch EXACTLY where Carlson goes, and STOPS..
  8. He was NOT backing up.. he did NOT run behind home.. he stood inbetween the Yankees dugout and home plate knowing damn well Posada had to pass through there. He had no intentions on backing up. Yes, I watched the clip, absolutely. Am I condoning what Posada did? No. Not at all.. but Carlson knew exactly what he was doing when he stood there. My point is.. Carlson was in the blame just as much as Posada was. Carlson moved there to push buttons.. buttons got pushed, Posada responded.
  9. Carlson had no business standing where he was standing... he did so to antagonize Posada. Watch it on yankees.com ... Michael Kay said it perfect. A pitcher backing up at home plate does not back up the catcher while standing next to the catcher between the yankees dugout and home plate...
  10. Seriously, read the thread. Don't make me go through and repost things in chronological order because you can't click a 1, 2 or 3. The posts I quoted came from 2 individuals.. One When the Yankees don't have weak teams to pound on... because both Boston and New York aren't in the AL East? So, somehow.. the Yankees schedule is filled with weak teams, but Bostons is not? How does that work? Take the season game by game, they all pile up.. ..and the Red Sox have played the same teams. How does that work?
  11. LOL! Oh well.. I dont know what I'm talking about though?
  12. I'd love to see Hughes in the rotation. When he was solid, he was lights out. The no hitter against Texas? He was brilliant. Minus the whole missing the last few innings of the game due to an injury... lol. I'd also have to say in the playoffs our pen looks the best. Aceves -- Hughes -- Mo. All three are lights out and I really don't think our season would have been the same if it wasnt for Aceves. Personally, I think he shouldve been starting over Mitre. He def. has earned it...
  13. The Red Sox home record is right up to par with the Yankees... both teams are explosive, and I'd have to say neither of them really have the edge over the other. It'll be interesting to watch. But the Yanks have the ability to take any game away from home as well. But I guess thats attributed to the fact that the Red Sox play much harder teams than the Yankees do... *rolls eyes*
  14. I would personally bring in Brian Bruney... he can potentially be a huge asset to the Yankees if he gets his issues ironed out. He was a rock at the start of the season until he ended up on the DL.. give the guy a chance. Especially with Robertson potentially out, they need more guys to trust from the pen. THey can't go to Hughes, Mo and Aceves for everything... As for taking out Gaudin.. you're nuts. The guy was taken out in the 7th with I believe... 76 pitches? How can anyone in their right mind remove him from a game like tonight... with UNDER 70 pitches going into the 7th? Thats not going to happen... not at all. As someone already stated, the Yanks are on cruise control... let some other guys prove what they can do and hope they'll carry it into October.
  15. Yes, it does matter. If you had to lift 200lbs 10x over an hour, or 10x over 10min.. what would make you more tired? Very simple to figure out. You need to stop looking at stats for that game. On paper, it looked awful. Innings were extended several times throughout that game. How many of those hits came after those errors? He should have been out of innings way earlier.. if there were no miscues, it wouldnt have been 11 hits.. not even close. 2 of those earned runs came from bases loaded walks from Mark Melancon.. dont forget Hairstons double pump, let the runners score and be safe at first... that kept the inning going. There were a lot of mistakes that didnt show up on a damn piece of paper that really hurt Mitre.
  16. Hard to even say if this was a bad outting for Mitre.. if the defense was solid, I'm sure the outcome wouldve been different for him. 7 runs, 5 earned so far.. but a lot of those runs dont belong on the board. Hate watching games like this.
  17. A lot of defensive miscues.. unncessary at-bats and extra outs for the blue jays. Never a good combination.
  18. Isn't this the second time he's been fined this year for the same thing?
  19. Prior to this season, when was the last time you watched a Yankees game where it seemed like they were actually having fun being out on the field? The make up for the Yankees this year is amazing.. and I think Nick Swisher has a large role in that.
  20. Personally, I like Swisher. He adds a lot to the line up. He might not have the best bat, or best fielding abilities, but it seems like he adds a lot of morale and livelihood to the club. To me, you can't really put a price tag that. He could have a batting avg. of .190 for all I care.. he brings a spark to that line up and its a lot of fun to watch him play.
