  1. Jon Heyman of SI.com writes that the Red Sox would send about $8-9 million to Texas in the proposed deal for Mike Lowell. Lowell is on tap to make $12 million in 2010, so the Red Sox would pay nearly three-quarters of his salary just to get him out of the way. While Lowell is expected to play first base in Texas, a position he hasn't played since the minor leagues, the Red Sox will be able to pursue free agent third baseman Adrian Beltre. Stay tuned. Just saw this on Rotoworld. http://www.rotoworld.com/Content/playernews.aspx?sport=MLB Interesting.
  2. No way will anyone in Boston be fine with that. I could never see myself rooting for Matsui. There's just no way. Besides, he's like 80, how about some youth?
  3. I'd rather have Bay. Holliday may be a better hitter, but Bay has been with us now for a year and a half and he really hasn't let us down, aside from that little slump mid-season.
  4. Well of course.
  5. For sure, need to get his command in order. I don't want to see a bad final start for Beckett going into the postseason.
  6. Not a good start...
  7. Everyone knows that A-Rod doesn't produce in the post season or when it counts. Just look at his past 4 seasons.
  8. True, but there are players who are known for their post season success, or lack thereof. Look at Beckett compared to A-Rod, for example. I agree it's a small sample size. It's impossible to predict how a player will do in the playoffs, no doubt, but there are those guys who excel and there are those guys who don't.
  9. Oh I wasn't trying to pick a fight or anything like that. Nothing wrong with supporting your team, even if it is on a Sox forum. The control is definitely an issue, no getting around that. Just makes you wonder how he'll do in the post season as he's historically not been that great in comparison to the regular season.
  10. hahaha that was f***ing gold. The pay phone part was the best.
  11. Could be a few things. To keep players from getting rusty, obligation to the fans, who knows.
  12. Unearned or not, he still was getting lit up.
  13. Off subject, but I just love seeing CC get rocked. Carry on.
  14. I bet the Blue Jays FO is praying Doc finishes with a no-no. The more attention Doc gets, the more valuable.
  15. I guess you could say that considering the Yanks are roughly the same age as the chicks in Golden Girls.
  16. Wow, you don't see Youk get HBP very often.................
  17. The high heata!
