  1. I think we will never see that, since this matter was handled as rumors. So we should have to ask Cashman, and he would probably give you a typical GM answer, saying something but saying nothing.
  2. What amazes me is that supposedly he had discomfort in his arm for a while now, and the Mets continue using him every 5 days, even with them out of the playoff race. That's madness.
  3. Will be interesting to watch Victor Martinez catching Wakefield.
  4. It's a little weird when a Boston fan complains about the yanks having a little league park... Of course, Fenway's left field is pitcher's paradise... Oh wait...
  5. IMHO, it was not smart. Sure, it can "fire up" the team, we will see, but being suspended for a week or so right now is not good. And we will see how much time will pass until he is suspended, because the yanks go to fenway in 9 days, so it could be possible he won't be in the lineup at least for the 1st game.
  6. Not agree. I post in Scout.com and some of our best posters are Red Sox fans. I used to post in the Red Sox forum, but that one is dead since a year ago or so... So, since that time I have being looking for a Red Sox community to post, because IMO is great to have a good baseball discussion with people from the opposite side, not in a forum where everybody will see the world with the same colored glasses, red or blue. This community seems to be very active and I like that. I just expect we can have nice debates about our teams and baseball in general. And about the trolling, and this is a personal suggestion, since in the scout.com board we are also victims of trolling (mostly red sox or mets "idiots", because trolls are not fans, just idiots): JUST IGNORE THEM. Giving them importance is the thing they want.
  7. Yeah, no pun intended, I ask because we all know how that ended. At least in scout.com every Boston fan wanted to kill Edgar with their own hands...
  8. The Red Sox have look THIS bad because they are struggling and met what IMO is the best team in the league, and also the hottest. Actually they are a good team with big problems. If you ask me, I can compare yesterday's performance for Clay as a typical Joba's performance: always in trouble, but avoiding the big hit. So I don't know if its a turning point for him. Against a team who didn't play 15 innings 12 hours before that should have being the same? I really don't know. I think Boston has 2 teams to be concerned: Tampa (because is in the same division) and Texas. The Rangers have a very easy schedule from now on. They have 48 games left, with 29 games against the likes of Oakland, Cleveland, Baltimore, etc... Texas has a real shot at the wildcard.
  9. I don't remember Johnny mostly because he last played in 1951, and I wasn't around at that time ... But he had very good moments after that 2 no hitters, being an All Star 4 times and playing 13 years (losing 2 because of WWII)... So poor Johnny, he was not that bad...
  10. Sad to see Smoltz being DFA'd. The Red Sox need the roster spot, but a little more respect was in order IMO. Announce retirement, then release him. Or he still think he can pitch? lol.
  11. Haha, well I know that in the US there is a huge "hate" between yankees and red sox fans. Not so much here, we have our own baseball rivalry (Caracas - Magallanes, winter league) so I have a lot of good friends that are Red Sox fans. Of course we tease each other and share jokes, also have nice discussions about our team's status, and always congratulate each other when our team wins... BTW, the first game went as expected (at least to me). I have to say that is sad to see a pitcher with a great career as Smoltz to go down this way. He is just to old for this. I think that the sox need to end this experiment ASAP or their playoff chances will fade every day. Joba also threw a terrible game. He was just lucky the Red Sox are in a bad offensive moment. But 7 walks in 5 innings is inexcusable.
  12. So far we can talk freely, at least about baseball lol
  13. Thanks... Yeah, I hope you guys don't think we all venezuelans are like Chavez :dunno: Actually we are nice people
  14. Yankee fan here, long time reader, newly registered. Always loved a good, respectful baseball conversation. Long time scout.com poster, and I have to say that some of our best posters are Red Sox fans... Anyway... I seriously think the yanks should take 3 of 4. A sweep is very improbable mostly because of the sunday matchup. People is talking about the Beckett - AJ game giving an edge to the Red Sox, and that could be true if you take into consideration that Beckett is better than Burnett, but you can't forget that Burnett is pitching very, very good in the last 2 months or so. His last outing was not good, but 2 bad outings in a row? Sincerely I think that's not very probably. That game should be a close one, yanks winning because their offense is better, and anybody could hit a HR at anytime.
