  1. Red Sox policy: take 2B, please.
  2. jammed him beautiful.
  3. location, Pap.
  4. Upton's in a groove right now.
  5. s***. that's the Pap of a few years ago. 97.
  6. Pap is pitching like he smells a big enchalada contract.
  7. the homeplate ump is being very generous to the Red Sox. we're lucky TB isn't NY. it might be different.
  8. This is one of the worst fundamentals teams in baseball. How can the media call this a great team?
  9. Why send AdGon? This team can't do anything right. amazing. where do they get their coaches?
  10. toronto beat ny 5-4
  11. Shields out there again in the 8th. Just got replaced after a walk. 112 pitches. Notice how Madden keeps his starter in until a runner gets on base. No pitch count machine for that guy. He waits for the right time.
  12. Bard showed good stuff--97 heat and a curveball. Can't understand what happened to him lately. Has to be fatigue.
  13. Pedey gets screwed. The times are tough.
  14. Jennings has about the same SBs as CC this year (18) , and he's only played half a season. How many SBs did Crawford have last year? 60? Wow. Something's wrong there.
  15. When was the last time a Red Sox starter lasted 7 innings? Seems to be a team policy--out after 6. Why Aceves isn't starting, and Beckett doesn't go 7 innings--are the questions. Why do they need 3 pitchers to finish a game? Not counting Beckett.
  16. Aceves just woke up Scutaro. LOL
  17. Beckett 109 pitches. I guess it's asking too much for Red Sox pitcher to go more than that, heh? He looked pretty good last inning. But let's wear Aceves out, so he can't pitch tommorrow.
  18. Damon just took 3B on the pitcher. Damon stole 2B and 3B on Beckett, not Varitek. The last one should have been called "pitchers indifference."
  19. Another stolen base. Teams have been stealing the Red Sox blind the past few years, and you just saw why. Their pitchers have been encouraged, it seems, not to hold runners on.It isn't Tek.
  20. Wake is mediocrity and has been filling a roster spot for years that should have gone to a younger prospect. He also kept the Sox from developing a young catcher to replace Varitek--with his need for a caddy. He was never that good a pitcher to warrant that much attention, but his longevity made him an insider in the organization--tough to displace. He'll still be tough to say no to next year if he wants to pitch. On the plus side, at least they never had to pay him Lackey money.
  21. Ha. Replaced CC for Jennings and hardly missed a beat. The Rays drafted high and well for years, and are now reaping the benefits. They are stealing Tek blind, by the way. 39 yo catcher who shouldn't be playing. The Sox have one foot in the past. Beckett finally gets a corner. Kotchman must have been sleeping in Boston. Madden woke him up.
  22. I've said before Ellsbury's break out has marginalized Crawford--good year or bad. If Theo knew Ells was going to have this kind of year, he would have never signed Crawford. He was looking for Crawford to have the kind of year Ellsbury is having. Surprise.
  23. The MVP on the Sox this year so far is Salty. One of the few guys who has improved his game and busted his ass to do it. He and Pedey are shining lights when it comes to effort on this team. He even caught Wake without bitching about it.
  24. I won't have fun watching the Patriots this year--not after they go unbeaten and then get bombed again by the Jets and their bombastic coach in the playoffs. Epstein has made a lot of mistakes. No use covering for him. He hasn't done much right the last two years except for Beltre. And he let Beltre go. Now he has a worn down Youks playing 3B. It's beginning to look like they should have spent their money on pitching instead of Crawford. And AdGon may have upset the chemistry--despite his ability. Millwood was let go in deference to a bunch of stiffs he is currently outpitching in Colorado. There are good reasons the Red Sox are where they are right now. A lot of it has to do with pitching, and how it has been managed. Plus their questionable free agent signings.
