Too bad they didn't bring up Michael Bowden instead of Tazawa. I don't know if there are any statistics as to which team wins in late innings, but I suspect it might be usually the home team. Tazawa's debut was a real downer for us.

Buchholtz is an anxious, nervous type who appears to be intimidated by the opposing team. I don't think he'll ever be more than he is now. Bad Penney is inconsistent and Smoltz just doesn't seem to have good stuff anymore. And yes, we need another reliable starter - where he's coming from or when, who knows.

The Sox really need a pitcher. Bad Penney and John Smoltz are killing us. Halladay would be a great acquisition - can't wait for Friday. The Sox need a shot in the arm - pitching arm, that is.

So Paplebon blew a save? Wasn't his fault - It was Nick Green's throwing errors that sank the team. Is Lowery any better? He may be SS tomorrow.

At 1 and 4, Smoltz doesn't look like he's going anywhere. But, who's going to replace him? Wasn't much offense today - the Sox are lethargic. Time to wake up!
