  1. What does that prove? Since June May 31st, the Red Sox have had the best record in baseball.
  2. Holliday - .276/.371/.424 Bay - .255/.374/.516 Less of a difference than you'd think.
  3. I wouldn't mind the Red Sox calling up Buchholz in place of Smoltz.
  4. They KNOW most of his pitches are fastballs. But he has so much movement on them that the hitters can't square them up most of the time. As for why he's gone away from his splitter, he's used his slider more in place of his splitter because he feels it takes less of a toll on his arm.
  5. You're right, he lead the AL in XBH last year with 82, but he isn't leading the AL this year.
  6. Yankees up 5-0. That's pretty much what I expected from Tim Redding.
  7. Anyone else notice how the new stadium looks JUST like a toilet? http://umpbump.com/press/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/new-yankee-stadium.jpg
  8. Hahaha, Melky takes the worst routes to balls but the Yankees announcers eat it up because it looks flashy when he barely gets to them.
  9. He's probably too busy planning Austin Jackson's Hall of Fame induction speech.
  10. My bad, the second year in a row he's leading the AL in XBH. I didn't mean to offend Saint Albert, I swear!
  11. Not any different than all your other comments on here. Why exactly do you post in Red Sox fan forum, again?
  12. That was the Yankees in 2004. I don't see how the two are related.
  13. Wow, that was a creative way to get your dig in at the Red Sox. I mean, it really took a lot of... imagination to come up with that criticism
  14. Anyone else watching the subway series?
  15. The Yankees haven't been THAT bad. They're tied for the 3rd best record in baseball. We've just been a lot better. I don't see them as an elite team though. It will be hard for them to match their performance in May, that doesn't look at all like the team we've seen in the other 2 months.
  16. The scary thing is that he's actually pitched better than his numbers indicate. His ERA independent of the fielding behind him is 3.14 and his BABIP is over .300.
  17. Sure thing, Melky and his 1 HR, .384 SLG away from Coors Field East is having a better offensive year than Ellsbury who has the better AVG and OBP and better power away from Yankee Stadium.
  18. It's easy to have nice numbers when you're a bench player coming off a 5-5. Gardner's a .269/.333/.376 hitter in the majors with 279 at bats. Ellsbury's a .296/.348/.409 hitter in the majors with 948 at bats. Better across the board.
  19. Not for another 4 years.
  20. Yeah, it's great to face a guy like Vazquez on the road with the B lineup and get a win out of it. That's the difference between good teams and great teams. We're 21-18 on the road now, that's the most road wins of any team in the AL. We're really doing it all. We're over .500 on the road, we're 20-8 against the AL East and 8-0 against the Yankees. What more could you ask for?
  21. He did blow one save... I'd trade him.
  22. Now I get to watch some subway series. I drove 5 hours today home from vacation, but the 6 hours of baseball I'll get will make up for it.
