  1. It is signifcnatly more difficult to qualify in Europe.
  2. does anyone know much about Adlaberto Ibarra? I thought he was meant to be the real deal?
  3. To the BoSox guys, sorry for all the rubbish that's been spouted on here
  4. The 2 teams (Liverpool are the Red Sox) are similar in many ways actually.
  5. MESSAGE FROM THE MODS: Don't use this thread to carry on with ridiculous soccer feuds. If you have something interesting to say post it, but people spamming links and fighting will be banned. The use of bizarre English slang that we don't understand constitutes fighting. Not sure how much truth there is in it, but it's all kicking off at Liverpool. Our two current owners are desperately trying to keep the club despite putting it in massive debt. Liverpool have received two bids for the club, one of which is apparently from John Henry. Any news over there about this? Thanks.
  6. It had nothing to do with strikers. As soon as you got the ball in defence you tried to counter attack in 10 seconds like for the second goal (which was marvelous by the way), except when you get caught out you'll be exposed badly. That's what they did and that's why they got punished. They should have kept the ball and built slowly, thus keeping their shape. When they lost it on a quick counter at least 1 or 2 players would subsequently be caught out. Your midfield lost it for you through naivety I'm afraid.
  7. Yanks created their own downfall. After the second goal every time they intercepted the ball they thought they could do the same counter attack again rather than keeping hold of the ball. When they inevitably lost it whilst trying to break, disaster. Yet they kept doing it. Naive.
  8. All that said, I'll be supporting you guys as I've never liked Brazil
  9. Congratulations!
  10. It's got nothing to do with Man U as he's not their player. He'll probably stay though, which is no bad thing. They spend ?25m and don't improve their team
  11. Yep, it got pretty tense for a while.
  12. don't worry, fixed it!
  13. I've changed the settings to mobile skin rather than the normal one, now I can't find the option to change it back! I thought it was in edit options but no joy. Anyone? Thanks.
  14. I wouldn't call a manager who hasn't won a trophy for 5 years and who's job is in serious jeapordy for a refusal to sign what's needed a genius.
  15. Liverpool. Manchester United are the New York Yankees / Dallas Cowboys of football. Classless, arrogant, ignorant, etc.
  16. Hello. I'm a Red Sox fan from the UK and have followed them for about 12 years since they started showing baseball regularly over here. It was around the Mo Vaughn era I think. Favourite players were Pedro Martinez and Curt Schilling. Also liked Johnny Damon until his shenanigans. I also support Liverpool FC and the Detroit Lions ( ) A claim to fame of mine... when staying with a friend in Detroit I made the following prediction when the Red Sox were 3-0 down to the Yankees in the 2004 ALCS... "Red Sox will be the first to turn a 3-0 deficit around and win 4-3. Also Damon will grandslam in game 7". Sadly I didn't put any money on it...
