This is understandable. He is not the best defensive CF by any means. He makes up for his lack of experience with pure athleticism and that can cloud a Sox fan's judgment. But he is young and should develop his skills in the field and at the plate. I'm willing to watch as he refines his ability as long as he contributes. And I don't consider him to be a liability at this point.

I did not make my point clear. I value his presence in the line-up at any time in any slot. He has not been productive at lead-off this year. He is not alone by any means. Is that a valid observation? I don't know. I want him in the line-up swinging for the gaps every night. This team needs him getting on base, and producing runs.

Seriously. Why? He is producing where he is! Aside from lead-off, he can do damage anywhere. Statistically, anyway.
