  1. Probably because you are "so far below sea level". One of my favorite lines from Slap Shot. That s*** happens here with alarming regularity. At the worst times!
  2. No s***? Don't go through any trouble for me. But I am curious. I have a friend (lives in NY) that runs a big construction company that does (or did) lots of big commercial jobs. To the rest of the board, I apologize for hijacking but I'm interested in what I see in all new stadiums. Target Field looks really nice.
  3. So I take it that you've been there.
  4. @ ORS - Are those "real' bricks or stucco behind the plate? Looks like stucco to me but I'm not sure.
  5. That was a big play by Hall. Not only did he make a nice running catch, but he took the play away from Hermida!
  6. I like run producing doubles.
  7. Thanks. I googled it. Sounds awful.
  8. What the hell is Jeremiah Weed?
  9. This series is 2-3-2 so the Celts are at a disadvantage before the first tap. If the Celts can take one in L.A. and then two of three in Boston, they will most likely prevail. Low post play will be paramount. Perk, Garnett, and Sheed must outplay Gasol. Koby will be huge. But he won't win this series by himself. The Celts are a little banged up. Not good.
  10. One of the best players I've seen in forty three years. Certainly the most gifted (talented) I've seen in the last twenty or so years. Prior to injury, he was the definition of a "five tool" player.
  11. It's interesting that Talksox members feel strongly about this. Who really cares about the Guardians or Tigers? Well, the answer is that wherever our loyalties lie, we are baseball fans. We want to see GOOD baseball. What just happened illustrates how behind the times MLB is. Baseball is run by a bunch of old rich guys that are out of touch with their market. It's time for some changes. Sell some sizzle. At least try to appear as if the game is legitimate and has some integrity. How about a challenge flag similar to the NFL?
  12. Not me. Within reason.
  13. f***ed up. He sure looked out from what I saw.
  14. There is absolutely no reason for any team to fear Ortiz. None. Zero. Nada.
