  1. I guess Patterson does have some wheels. Sox are on the board.
  2. You should find a copy of Ball Four. If you haven't read it already.
  3. Well he's dug a hole for the Sox already. Unless he gets some quick outs he probably won't get past the 5th inning which means the pen will have to go 4 (or more).
  4. 49 pitches and no runs allowed.
  5. Nice grab by Zobrist.
  6. He got lucky there. Cameron misplayed that shot but came down with it to end the inning with no runs scored. 29 pitches. Maybe he can go five tonight.
  7. Three walks (so far) in the first inning.
  8. Here we go again. A walk to the first batter.
  9. Drew has been removed from the line-up because of a stiff neck. McDonald replaces him.
  10. You are in the wrong decade.
  11. The rep system is not used here. Usually when someone responds to your post they will quote you. Even if they don't, you'll know! "Everyone is friendly".
  12. He's a juicer!;)
  13. Good. Here is what I said. "The Sox did make two good moves. Acquiring McDonald, and promoting Nava. Both have been all that anyone could have expected." Where did I use the word luck?
  14. So, you agree with my post!
  15. While I would not call the Sox bench weak, it's difficult not to recognized that is poorly composed. The Sox screwed the pooch on the Lowell to Texas deal and the handicap that resulted has remained to this day. Hermida is a defensive nightmare and at best, a mediocre platoon hitter. Hall has been serviceable in left and center but can't play SS and he may be nearly as bad at second (when we get enough of a sample size to make a fair assessment). As much as I love Mike Lowell, he's got no place on a team with three other 1st basemen and two other 3rd basemen. As for Lowrie, he was never in the plans for the Sox during the winter. The plan for him from all reports, was to be in Pawtucket demonstrating that his wrist could withstand the rigors of daily play and to regain his hitting ability from the left side. Obviously, that did not happen. The Sox did make two good moves. Acquiring McDonald, and promoting Nava. Both have been all that anyone could have expected. Anyone that believes that Pedroia will be back (and productive) in 4-6 weeks needs to have a better understanding of human physiology. The bone that he broke is load bearing and has poor blood supply. That means it won't heal as quickly as some other bones (see the post by Jacko) or review your college physiology text. Pedroia will be on the field at Fenway in 6-8 weeks if all goes well. In the mean time, a real, proven MLB offensive replacement with average or above average defense needs to be acquired. I say go after Ty Wigginton.
  16. Me too. Or any South American team that remains.
  17. This subject has been discussed several times on Talksox in the last 12-15 months. Bottom line: Fenway is and antiquated, crumbling dump. This is not a Sox vs. Yankee issue. It's an economic and political issue. Those that have attended 100's of games over the last 40 years and/or live in the Boston area know this.
