  1. That's for damn sure.
  2. Brantley has Worman's number. Otherwise Workman is doing his job pretty well so far.
  3. I am not happy over that whole Price/Workman affair. But since they are suspending Workman I hope that they just get it done. If he misses a start or not, he gets paid so I don't get how it is any kind of punishment.
  4. Thanks. I saw the first inning and it seemed that the Guardians made at least two loud outs ( the ball was being stung ). I sensed that he was going to get shelled. That did not happen and the Sox still lost. I have read some criticism of AJ in the way that he handled ( or didn't handle!! ) that second tag play at the plate. The throw from Pedroia was way off target just outside the left hand hitters box. That failure was mostly Pedroia ( his throw was from the shallow infield ). Whatever, they lost.
  5. NO!!! Tell him to suck it up ( the other way!!! ) and play in the minors somewhere, anywhere, until he can pitch effectively then try him back in the majors. What a spoiled brat.
  6. LOl. The guy makes a good post comprised of facts, and good observations then he craps all over himself with admitting a man crush? I have always Said that I admired ol' Horseface from when he was with the Angels. I still like him as a pitcher. Never liked his contract. Never had a man crush on him, either. This team will need at least one quality veteran pitcher on the Roster next year. With Lester likely gone and Peavey not worth resigning, keeping Horseface is a good idea, I think.
  7. Okay back in the game with a tying run. If Holt can play anywhere near his current level the loss of Ellsbury will mean less and less. I love the way this kid plays!!! What a spark. I hope that he does not flame out soon.
  8. Did not see much of the first 6 innings. I take it that Brother Peavey was not very effective? Still, the Sox were tied at 2 after six so he at least "kept his team in the game". Or some such crap. At least we have Workman starting Sunday.
  9. Good start by Peavy. Holt is in Right field!!! Good!
  10. And I don't care what Fangraphs or WAR inticate!!!!!!
  11. I think that 2/25 would be very good for both sides. It's just that all starting pitcher's salaries are out of whack to me. Grenkie (Sp ), Kershaw, etc. It has polluted and distorted the market in my eyes. Imagine turning down 148 mil?????
  12. I hope Good Peavy makes a showing. He's sort of like an early version of Wakefield to me. He is either or. GO SOX!!!!!
  13. It's all speculation. It would be nice to see Lackey sign a team fair offer. He did sign the contract that allowed for the 500K minimum if he were to lose time. I say morally he owes the Sox a year so he should sign an extension that is friendly to the Sox.
  14. OH!!!!! That I like very much! I doubt that Lackey would be happy with it though!
  15. It was certainly refreshing to see the offensive outburst last night. Only Ortiz did not have a hit ( 3 BB though ). This is what we all expected of the Sox this year, I think. I certainly do not think that the Sox have turned the corner. Not yet anyway. It will be interesting to see what happens when Victorino returns. I have no hopes of him being a huge contributor but who knows? Will Holt return to earth and become a .250 hitter? Where does he fit in long term?
  16. Yeah this is what I read also. Just media speculation. Still, it sounds like something that Lackey would think! I say 17 is way too much. But one year at 15 is okay, I guess. I think that he will remain healthy and productive. I think two years would be best but who knows?
  17. Where did you get those numbers? It sounds a little low to me ( and you know I believe all of these guys are way over paid! ). I think the 2/25 is okay and is not that risky. I wonder if he believes that he is due to get another long term contract???? It may sound idiotic to us but it may also be what the market may offer him if he were to become available. I would get this done soon if I were the Sox. Why wait? I think Lester is gone. This is another reason to extend Lackey. He may not be a legit #1 but he can surely be the top of the Sox rotation next year.
  18. Go Spurs.
  19. That was a welcomed offensive eruption. That is what we are accustomed to seeing and what we had expected from this team. So how did it happen? And how can the Sox replicate this effort each night????
  20. I'm in favor of a reasonable extension for Lackey. But for no more than two years ( 2015, 2016 ).
  21. Well I have always though that this moniker was a riot. Especially when applied toward Dempster.
  22. Whatever move the Sox may make, they have to keep this guy starting and give him a chance to learn how to go deeper in games. Presently, he is the one Sox pitcher that I am confident will show up every night and pitch well. Not the Ace to be sure. But he is very valuable right now.
  23. Of course he could also blow out his elbow or damage his shoulder.
