Kojis is a free agent at the end of the season. I am not an expert at the rules of MJB contracts and stuff. If the Sox want to retain Koji for 2015 are they bound to make a QO? If so, I say let him walk. But if not, can they make him an offer of an extension of sorts where he will be paid about what he is making now for one more year? That's what I would do. He seems to like this city and the working environment. He can probably regain his split with rest and proper preparation in the off season. I'm sure that many people will say that he is too old to invest in. I say that if he can regain his dominant form than the Sox should sign him. If there is something physically wrong with him then let him walk.

I realize that you don't care for Nava as a player and that is your privilege. However, Carp has never done what Nava has done. Nava, after his miserable start to the season in which he hit a paltry .130, returned to his 2013 form and has been hitting over .300. Nava has demonstrated that he can be an everyday player in MLB and that he can hit with a very good average and OBP. Carp has never done that.

Sox should have saved some of last nights offense for tonight!!! Kuroda can't be that good. 5-1. Ugh.

I just hope that Betts is not dealt. He has real skills at the plate.

I suspect Craig is a stiff. Or maybe that bad foot is really why he has lost his swing and not recovered it. I say dump him in a trade for pitching.

Mookie has a weak arm? Was this a concern and was it discussed before his forced transition to CF? Maybe he just has a "weak" arm for CF. He is small for 3rd base but have we seen evidence that he can not consistently make throws from that position? My only question about him playing 3rd is does he have the pop to play a position that is largely recognized as a position where power is the norm. I don't know. But if he does not have that kind of power will it be a detriment to a Sox lineup that has Ortiz, Cespedes, and Napoli?

I'm of the opinion that Betts is untouchable unless it is for Stanton. If they move him in a trade for ANY pitcher I will be very disappointed. I have no reason to believe that Castillo is anything great or even as good as Betts. Mookie is 21 and has raked in all levels of play leading to the bigs. And now he is demonstrating that he has the skills to be a very good hitter long term. Castillo is an unproven 27 year old. It is a small sample size so far. But I bet Mookie is the real deal.

It's nice to have a spouse that shares a passion with you. Bring her to Fenway and see if you can convert her!!!

Buch did pitch very well today but I have no reason to ever expect him to consistently throw this well. I certainly do not know why except that I suspect that he is stupid and immature. And I question his heart too. I think that he could greatly benefit from a visit to Oz. That way the Wizard could give him a heart and a brain.

Good post. The guy is a major dope to squander such God given ability. The Yankees have a good young pitcher. Seattle has a likely bust.

I can understand the frustration that fans feel this season. After all, I'm a Sox fan too. In some cases a change of manager can help. But in this case Farrell was dealt a short hand and then the players did not show up in many games. There have been some injuries that have also help cripple the offense this year. I don't think that we can blame just Farrell for this mess. It is true that like all managers he makes us scratch our heads sometimes with dopey moves that do not seem to make sense at the time. I think that because of the overall failure of this team this year that some of Farrell moves stick out because we are criticizing anything we see. If the Sox were playing much better and winning would we be bitching about Farrell so much? I have my bones to pick with the guy ( an example is his "7 run rule" ). But I do not blame him entirely for the complete mess that is this years version of the Sox.

Yes it has been disgusting to see such anemia in the Sox offense. It's ass if they are facing nothing but aces each game. But I still have hope!!!!

I too, have been rooting for the A's and Royals. Dunn still has swat. The A's have been faltering since just before the trade. I'll laugh really hard if the Sox end up resigning Lester. They are squandering his talent recently scoring only 5 runs in his last 3 starts.

Oh well. I'm not happy to see XB back starting at SS. I know it sounds terrible for me to say this but the kid plays like s*** compared to Holt. I say start Holt at short as long as necessary and send XB down to Pawtucket or let him sit. I want the Sox to win more games!!!!
