  1. Hmm. I can't make any sense of the schedule. Maybe Remy was drunk.
  2. If Vic does not produce for whatever reason he will be replaced soon enough. Castillo will get his chance and if he produces Vic will be done as a full time player in Boston. It's too bad but hey, that's life in the big leagues. I still want Vic to come back healthy but I don't see it happening.
  3. No. She hates Putin even though they attended the same primary school in St. Petersburg. That would be the FSB. They are all f***ed in the head as far as I can tell. Totally different culture with no ethics or morals.
  4. They won the Major's cup yesterday, I believe. They lead the series 4-1 according to Remy.
  5. I don"t know about that. Even if the Sox have no stand out studs in the rotation the team has to consider match ups. I'd prefer to have Porcello face the other team's best pitcher, for one example.
  6. I wanted Ross back for sentimental reasons. I admit it. I will also admit that I was pleasantly surprised and pleased that Hannigan was acquired. He is what a back up catcher should be. Hopefully he hits closer to his career averages than he has recently. The BABIP data seems to suggest he may do just that. I still like the fat old guy, Quintana. He seems serviceable. And he smiles a lot which makes me think that he enjoys what he is doing.
  7. I would do it. Of course I'm the guy who married a Republican and then married a Russian. I'm a glutton for punishment.
  8. I think if you argued and fought over baseball you could have frequent make up sex.
  9. Didn't he play 1st for the Cards in the 1967 World Series? That is how I came to know him.
  10. There are a ton of memories in those names. Reggie Smith never seems to get much ink in this town. Maybe because of Lynn and Ellsbury. I don't know. But he was pretty talented. And he had a giant afro with the Sox cap on top. He had speed, an arm, power, could hit. Plus he was very fan friendly. It would be nice if Bogaerts could become 75% of the SS that Rico Petrocelli was. Rico was not a great athlete in the obvious sense. But he hustled his ass off and always seemed to be making plays.
  11. That and his mechanics were all over the place. Can't repeat your release point, you can't control the strike zone either. Those injuries were said to be responsible for all of that. Now he is supposed to be healthy. I do not know what his average fastball was. I just heard high 80s said one time and I am not sure it was in reference to Masterson, really. I have a feeling that there will be no middle ground with Masterson this year. Either he is back to 2013 form or he will get totally rocked each outing. I'm pulling for the guy because I have always liked him.
  12. Fred just wants us all to remember that he said it first.
  13. I guess my answer should be gut feeling but I was being a wise ass mostly. Last year many here lamented JBJ being an automatic out and how if the rest of the lineup was performing to norm or was not injured that it could cover for his offensive deficiencies. So I was directing that comment towards them. If this offense does not produce as expected this team is toast anyway so as the bright folks in eastern Massachusetts say "same difference".
  14. I am convinced that Lester was allowed to walk precisely because the FO was convinced that Buch was ready to be the Ace. And I will move to Indiana and vote for Cruz.
  15. Crap. I did not notice. Although I did hear high 80s mentioned. He was never in trouble and he got left handers out.
  16. Masterson was the best he has been all spring tonight, I thought. Mookie continues to change games.
  17. Until injuries and under performance elsewhere in the lineup hits. Under performing expectations ( which seem very high ).
  18. The Sox have had week offensive batteries before. I remember Duane Josephson and Bob Montgomery very fondly!
  19. Where do you see that?
  20. I've said that I'm done with Buch. For his only dog trick he continues to dig holes.
  21. Yeah. Even for Dojji this is kind of out there.
  22. Well if Vasquez is out for the season maybe the Sox could work a deal with the Blue Jays for Navaro? Just an idea.
  23. Yup. I've said this before.
  24. I have seen very little of him but he is built like a brick s*** house. Our catchers are small compared to him.
  25. Ted you do remember how I felt about Dice-K don't you? I was the guy who volunteered to drive him to Logan to get him out of town. I was kidding about going to get him now.
