  1. But good teams do that if they can.
  2. This is funny because it was a minor issue at the time. I remember a Boston sportscaster asking Red about this topic when the Bulls won their second title, I believe. His response: "Jeez, are you kidding? The bulls have the horses." Which they did.
  3. I did just that while the Sox were in Minnesota. Ortiz looked younger and part of it was that he looked thinner. Do you think that 13 years of age and working out could effect changes in his appearance? I'm not saying that Ortiz did not juice. I have no way of knowing that. But his change in appearance, much like Nomar on the SI cover, does not provide evidence of PED use. I'm a Sox fan, but I can be objective.
  4. No one can. It does not exist. If real evidence of Nomar juicing did exist I am sure that someone would have come forward with it by now.
  5. I believe that over the course of the entire season that the Sox will be at or about .500. The rotation is only 3 deep which is a problem. Not all players will be hitting well all of the time. Depth, which was a strong point for this team, is now a weakness with several injuries concurrent. The Sox are having a tough time with teams with good records. The AL East is no joke, despite what many say about it. There are 3-4 teams that could win it. The Sox play these teams what, 19 times each? We all felt that feel good vibe when they were pounding the ball game after game. Now I think that I see what this team is. This is just how I see it, of course. Oh, I don't think that the rotation woes will be solved this year either. Unless DD gets very lucky or he just opens the vault.
  6. Yes. By all means, close the barn door. I'm not attacking you, I am in agreement. This situation will be very difficult to maneuver out of without spending a s*** load of money and prospect chips. And it was unnecessary. Welcome to talksox.
  7. That is not what I was suggesting. I am glad that most night when they take the field I believe that they have a chance to win.
  8. This is a .500 team.
  9. Ah, The Gator!!!! I forgot about Greenwell!!! I knew his Wife, Tracy, from our business dealings. She had called me one day when I was out. When I returned her call, Mike answered. I never knew him. But Tracy was a peach.
  10. LeBron a better defender than Bill Russell? Now there is a novel concept!
  11. That was a glaring example.
  12. Will Tampa really be willing to assume the remainder of his contract?????
  13. I second this motion!!!! GO SOX!!1!!!!
  14. Yam sack. Nice. I will add this to my vocabulary!
  15. That lunkhead has missed many memos.
  16. How many times was Castillo given the opportunity to actually start for the Sox? Each one of them was an opportunity that he squandered. He has been given ample chance to show even a glimpse of what he could do and he showed very little. I mean, what MLB players can not hit a fastball?
  17. Pablo Sandoval. His failure and humiliation are huge. The way the Sox demoted him sent a message to all players that the Sox must see production from a player regardless of who they are and how much money is owed them.
  18. So he is officially a bust, I guess. I was vocally against signing him in the first place. I told this board that it made little sense to sign a guy you had never seen play in game action and who had not played in about one and a half seasons. Let alone, he was too old to be a player under development at any price other than the minimum. This is one of the dumbest moves of the Cherrinton era and there are some doozies to choose from. I doubt that anyone claims him. Maybe the Sox eventually find a sucker to take him at half price and cut a deal. Buy hey, it's not all bad. At least I know what quick twitch means.
  19. I get a kick out of the idea that GS is the best team ever. What a crock of s***.
  20. Well now I have seen them!!!!! Funny how I knew it was more serious than the press let on ( which is what the Sox FO fed them ). Only Jacko and myself saw this coming and made the call. "as he had no damage to the ligaments or cartilage in his knee". This is laughable.
  21. I didn't care one way or another until late in game 6. Now I want Cleveland to win. Just for the sake of that much maligned city.
  22. Can't say that I disagree with any of this S5. That pitching insight was fantastic and he was quite affable. Overall Clemens seems like a pukard. He was in the booth because he was being embraced as one of "our guys". Something Braun has never been and hopefully never will be.
  23. Price is due for a win. GO SOX!!!!!!!!!!1!!!
