    I am almost certain that The Helicopter was the guy that could leave change at the top of a back board. I seem to remember this from the book Foul, The Connie Hawkins Story.

    I describe the Indian food cooked in my building as smelling like the combination of stale onions, burning tires, and decomposing organic waste. I bet it's about the same.

    The Hawk was my favorite player in the 70's. He got totally screwed over otherwise he would be recognized as one of the very best of all time. I met The Hawk at a tournament in Boston in 1972 or 1973. I was one of the very few white people at the tourney. He looked at me as though I was nuts when I stuck my hand out to be shaken. He had GUGE long hands!

    I see no reason why a team, any team, can't be both a seller and a buyer come the deadline. The idea is to make the team stronger.

    True, but it became good sport to watch Buch try to rationalize his suck. "I felt good. I had all my pitches working for me today. It's just one of those deals where they put a good swing on me." Yeah, that is quality entertainment.

    This. Hardly ideal to hope that either of them could "stabilize" the back end of the rotation. But one or both could give 5th starter performance that exceed what we have now.

    I thought of this about a few weeks ago. I don't know his background or if he has started in MLB. He looks to have the stuff to go 2 innings successfully. I think he may have gone 3 or more at least once this season but my old brain is not sure. I think that Hembree is one of the better parts of our bull pen so I would like to keep him there if possible. At least we could count on him providing decent performance there. Moving him to the rotation could mess that up.

    I don't know about that. His catcher is Puerto Rican. Oye. I always saw his ability to handle the press as one of his strengths. Take that off the positive column and Farrell is not much of a manager in this market.

    No need for you to get defensive about this topic. We all know that the Sox sell-out streak was bogus and embarrassing. However, several thousand empty seat in Fenway can in no way compare to the vast swaths of vacant seat in NYS most games. It is quit obvious when you watch a game from NYS on TV that many seats remain un-sold. Just look around home plate and the dougout areas. It's like 70% empty in those prime seats. That is just an example. I'm not denigrating the Yankees, their stadium, of even their fans by pointing out something so obvious. All in the largest media market in the world. Go figure.

    Price was leaving way to many pitches upstairs and missing his spots. Remy and OB were harping on this the entire game. Also, almost all of Price's ks came against the bottom of the order for what that is worth. I keep saying that Price will not be a problem. However, if we continue to see a steady diet of this s*** things could get really ugly. I asked the board prior to ST if Price were to get off to a slow start or otherwise fall short of expectations, would he be granted any slack by the fans and media. Well he has received some slack but now at the midpoint of the season, things are closing in on him around here. All the radio and TV shows are harping on his failures. I hope that he gets back solidly on track very soon. With 40% of the rotation already steaming dog s***. we need all three at the top to win far more than not.

    Two very different assessments from the Pitcher ( Price ) "I had nothing with my best three pitches. This is the worst I have been this season." Farrell "He clearly had his best stuff this season including the shape of his pitches". Or something close to that. To me I see a pitcher and a manager that are not on the same page. How do you correct problems when there is not common recognition of that problem? Maybe Farrell concussed his two brain cells last night.

    He's in his last year making $7. mil / year. How much do you offer him? He's 33.

    Yes. Then the Sox can unload Pablo on the Rays while eating his entire contract. It would be worth it so we could witness Pablo consuming all the poutine in Quebec. GO SOX!!!!!!1!!!
