  1. Glad the link worked. It's a wonderful story. What is really cool too is that everyone thought "Davey"was such a fun guy to be around. I guess he has always been that way.
  2. This is wicked cool. I hope that the link works. I snagged this from ESPN. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/page/allstar2016_96hrderby/how-david-ortiz-stole-show-ken-griffey-alex-rodriguez-home-run-derby
  3. I, for one, do not subscribe to WAR being the best way to assign value to a player. What does that figure actually represent?
  4. Kind of risky. His numbers are way off. The Sox need to continue to make wise choices mid season. We need our additions to be more of a sure thing. Keep looking.
  5. Clearly a700 was being sarcastic. Yet you found it necessary to insult him by suggesting that he find another sport. I do like all the tits in your avatars, though.
  6. Yes, I know. How many innings did he pitch? I can cherry pick too. No disrespect intended.
  7. Hmm. "I did not know that". Where is that mayonnaise jar?
  8. My brain must be deteriorating very rapidly. I don't remember Buch pitching "very well" as far back as the first half of 2013. I'm sure WAR says otherwise.
  9. Yesterday Comcast reported that the Sox were excluded from "next year" as well. I think that it's just poor reporting given that the date is mid-year.
  10. Maybe some here don't realize that there are two guys named Merrero playing for Pawtucket? Devan is the glovey mcnoodlebat SS that can play 3rd and 2nd. His cousin Chris is a left fielder who reportedly has played 1st as well. Glad I was able to clear that up for you all.
  11. You are pissing up a knotted rope. I agree. I would bet that if the Sox had solid ( as in league average ) 4 and 5 starters added to Porcello and Wright, and a "failing" Price, they would be at least as good and probably much better in the standings. Unfortunately I have no stats to back up my belief. Only common sense.
  12. Now all he has to do is visit The Wizard and get a brain. And some command while he's at it. At least he has a hot girl friend.
  13. There will be plenty of teams looking to snag him. I'd have no problem with him in our pen. But it's getting mighty crowded out there at the moment. Who does he replace? Who gets cut or otherwise transaction? As far as his peripherals go, don't relief pitchers vary sort of wildly? If he has that velocity I'd gamble on his command.
  14. I'm going to pull a Kimmi here. I think Buch blows goats. But I understand why the Sox keep rolling him out there.
  15. I've been saying all along that he will "be up next" as long as he is healthy. Ben dug a huge hole.
  16. I will watch out of boredom normally. But because the Sox are to prevalent ( particularly the 3 Bs ), I pretty much have to watch.
  17. Merrero plays OF. In games I have seen, anyway.
  18. Nice to see the Sox finish the "half" with a 4 game win streak.
  19. Way too many pitches in the 1st for Price. How can he go deep it he wastes so many pitches?
  20. Who the hell screwed-up today? Where is the GT? Okay, this will have to do. GO SOX!!1!11!! The Price will be right!
  21. I'm with you on this. Also, like Taz and Koji, I think that Barnes needs to be managed as well. Maybe not? I do like that he has morphed from a starter to a decent mid-reliever.
  22. They have AAAA Chris Merrero in Pawtucket. He is an International League All Star and has 16 dingers. He is next in line, I bet.
