Don't get me wrong. I like Lowrie and think he will be solid defensively but I have zero faith in him ever staying healthy.

Lowrie is a utility infielder imo. I don't think the kid can ever be a full time SS.

Hardy costs prospects while Gonzo only costs them 6 mill I believe. I hope Gonzo is back but I do worry about his ability to stay on the field for an entire season.

As we all know, Francona doesn't make every decision on his own. He and the front office go over all kinds of things and this will be another that they discuss. I don't think you can go wrong with either Beckett or Lester in game one unless Beckett struggles badly in the next 2 weeks, then you have to go with Lester.
