Ugh... another horrible start. This entire streak of bad games boils down to one thing... bad pitching. The starters have been crap, the bullpen has been crap (aside from Papelbon), and we're losing critical games as a result.
Today's my 30th... therefore the birthday mojo will be in full effect tonight... Beckett will dominate, the Sox offense will wake up and score big, and all will be well once again.
Awesome clip...
I'd hardly consider myself a fairweather fan... been watching and cheering for the Sox day in and day out for pretty much my entire life. Just frustrated with the way we're playing right now... we have so much talent and yet we seem to find a new way to lose every night.
No... I'm not.
But with the way we've been playing lately, it's hard to expect our offense to drop 5 runs if not more against Hellickson and Tampa's pen. Not saying they can't, but it's tough to see it happening.
Uhh... how's that?
Winning 3 out of 4 would put us 6 games up and reduce our magic number to just 5 for the wild card with 10 games to go, 7 of which are against the Orioles. I'd say that's about as close to a lock as it gets.
Now we need some decent middle relief, Bard to do what he's capable of, Pap to shut it all down... and Baltimore to do us a favor and beat the s*** out of Tampa
