  4. I agree. If you have the chance and resources to improve your team you have to atleast explore it. The reason the Rays beat this team all year was due to the weak hitting. This team with Texiera will have a team of Kevin Youkilis, Dustin Pedroia, Jason Bay and Mark Texiera for the next 5-10 years. Bay for Manny was brilliant cause there are only so many years these players have. Manny is the best LF in the MLB. But Bay is the second or third and younger so it's a set position. Lets keep the winning up cause a chance to do what we are doing doesn't come around every day.
  5. God help us.
  6. I had the same expression when you said Sox lineup is very capible. Texiera is a switch hitter who hits for power and average. Great D too. Put him behind Ortiz theres your protection. Besides your man crush Gagfield loves giving up 4-7 runs a start right now he's our 4th starter... We can't match that without a legit cleanup hitters bat. The Rays have passed us as the team to beat and if the Yankees do what I think they will we can easily find ourselves not in the playoffs next year. It be a shame wasting a year with a team who's core is as solid as ours.
  7. Texiera is the best player in baseball. Have to bring him to the worlds best city easy call.
  8. Texiera is a clutch bat need him.
  9. Hope they start Faulk tonight.

Just got a new computer so lost all other info... but this drew it again Red Sox Pursuing Teixeira By Nat Boyle [November 2 at 10:02am CST] Ken Davidoff of Newsday is confirming the Red Sox will be pushing hard to sign Mark Teixeira this offseason, a free agent perfect storm situation for Teixeira who also has interest coming from the Yankees. Writes Davidoff, "Boston will aggressively pursue Teixeira, two industry sources confirmed. While the Red Sox have a very good first baseman in Kevin Youkilis, they can move Youkilis to third to make room for Teixeira. Incumbent third baseman Mike Lowell is recovering from hip surgery and isn't expected to be ready until mid-March, and as much as the Red Sox like Lowell, they can look to trade him." Or they may hold onto Lowell and explore the market during the season as they did with Coco Crisp this year. Teixeira, a switch hitter, would give Terry Francona an impact bat and added flexibility with the middle of his lineup which figures to have lefties David Ortiz and J.D. Drew and righties Youkilis and a motivated Jason Bay. In this piece, Davidoff also suggests the Sox part with Jason Varitek and move to acquire Jarrod Saltalamacchia for pitching, as MLBTR discussed earlier today; however, if Varitek can be had for little and the Red Sox can afford it, it may make sense to re-sign Varitek and transition in his replacement at a pace dictated by production and success.
