This team fitting its usual pattern of being useless when the bats can't command the strike zone. Sometimes I think we need some slashers in this lineup.

No, but he and Ellsbury (and Hansen and MDC) have a common theme besides their recent suck/slumps -- a lack of AAA experience. They were not asked to prove themselves before making the jump to the big leagues like even Pedroia was. Mostly because the FO thought they were already ready.

If Clay Buchholz was named "Julian Tavarez" or "Kyle Snyder" he would NOT be in the majors right now. I *hate* it when players are given jobs because of name recognition rather than talent, skill or accomplishment.
