    Yeah -- out of the loop today, which is odd for me. I pleade the birthday excuse (not mine, brother's) Zink drawing some swinging strikes.

    Zink seems like a major league pitcher. I dunno if he'll ever be an ace but someone could give him a major league job and he'd probably do alright. Obie mentioned that Zink is throwing the knuck higher in the zone than Wake -- that might be an issue but I guess it's just that he wants to make sure he's getting strikes called.

    Alright, Chuck Z. The nerves are over now, you've had your first inning. Two things stand out to me 1: this is definitely NOT Tim Wakefield. Too many 82 MPH pitches for that and he's mixing his pitches a lot more than Wake does 2: That slider... I wasn't expecting it. It's pretty good.

    Zink's earned this shot. He's been at this for 7 years now, trying to break in. Good for him that he finally got the opportunity to do it.
