    When you need to use your farm system to recharge your big leagues as quickly as possible, you go for college guys. Once you're stable and have a lot of positions locked down long-term, you should go for the kind of talent talent that you can now afford to be patient in developing but not too many others can, because you can get better talent by tapping the more exclusive market..

    I dunno, I'm kind of hoping they go for Ben Sheets myself, because that'll really help their problem with keeping their rotation on the field.

    If they move Youks to third, it sure won't be Kotsay they put at first base. Kotsay at 1B is an emergency option. My guess is Casey. But the more likely scenario, at least based on this year, is Cora SS, Lowrie 3B, Youk 1B.

    Lester's incredible performance last night put all the pressure in the world on Anaheim. If they can't beat the second winningest pitcher in the American League tomorrow, they will have to face Josh Beckett in an elimination game at Fenway Park. I expect a desperate fight tonight, with all the stops pulled out and no holds barred.
