More like a long day. I had a number of church responsibilities to discharge today The fact that I tried to do yardwork yesterday on a sore back and wound up paying for it doesn't help as well. And I don't like having made a fool of myself either. Pity too. It was a solid pick.

Webb is solid. Beckett is great but occasionally inconsistent -- he can't lead a staff but he's one heck of a #2. Vazquez probably deserves more respect than he gets but he's hittable and I like to beat up on ex-Yankees. I think Nolasco is an interesting value buy but given Florida's tendency to rush and ruin good pitchers, I don't put a lot of stock in Marlins pitching prospects. I don't know anything about anderson. On the whole it's my honest opinion that Greinke-Shields-Zambrano-Bush-5th is a better staff

Geh. Not much to say here. I wanted a good lefty and Sherrill was the best of a VERY short list since Whiskey klepto'd the guy I REALLY wanted.

It's not like the manager hits ,pitches or fields. Blaming him for assembling a team that can't do any of those things is not smart.

I still think the trade was fair. I love Coco but he's getting more chances to earn his next contract than he would in Boston, so he wins. The Royals badly needed some speed and defense up the middle, so they win. And Boston gets Ramon Ramirez, so we definitely win.
