  1. Bay's OPS was above his career average in OPS. He struck out more, sure, but he also walked a lot more.
  2. He was our best hitter, but not by a ton. Drew and Youkilis weren't that far behind him.
  3. This game has no right, whatsoever, to be a nailbiter. None. They've got to win this face-off.
  4. Ahh, the old Bruins have reasserted themselves.
  5. Wow. Two on 0 and they can't get a shot off. Seriously, what was Begin thinking there?
  6. Thanks for jinxing it, Jack. Not a great game for "our new #1"
  7. Lucic has been a factor all game even beyond the two goals. He's been picking pockets like it's going out of style.

  9. Bruins 5, Lightning 1, Zebras 1.
  10. What. The heck. Two terrible holding calls on two of Boston's top scorers. Are the refs drinking? Serious home cooking going on here.
  11. That might have been a penalty but it wasn't a hold.
  12. Hey, Tuukka, play has resumed. Just so you know. Heck of a way to lose a shutout.
  13. Three distinct scoring chances on the penalty kill? what is this team?
  14. Downie got demolished. That was comical to watch lol. That's the problem with being the guy who starts crap. Occasionally it gets finished on you.
  15. I wasn't expecting last year's production from Thomas, that would have been crazy. What happened last year was obviously a career year fluke. I didn't expect him to regress this far though. He's gone from decent to Vezina to somewhat below average, and that's not anything you should expect.
  16. Rask has earned his string of starts independent of anything Thomas did. I wouldn't be too quick to proclaim him the #1 though. In fact I wouldn't be sure who the #1 is until the second half of next year. This is a tandem, and Claude's playing the hot hand, that's all.
  17. OMG someone has replaced the Bruins with robot impostors! Thank you whoever you are!

  19. I suspect it'll be an up and down season for Anderson, in all seriousness. He'll climb back to .800 OPS, and he'll finish strong, but we'll get mixed messages from him this year. I understand that there's people who think that Anderson's swing doesn't lift the ball enough. I've heard plenty of talk that Anderson may have struggled last year because he's trying to approach the ball differently. If that's the case look for his recovery to be a process more than an event.
  20. Good to see MDC showing up early. He's got some things to atone for from last year, but at least he's begun well.
  21. I think they'd be more likely to go after someone with infield capability myself. I'd say Dan Uggla would be an interesting compromise between "not so expensive you'd never get him" and "able to find a place to play him." He's got experience at 2B, 1B and LF as well as DH, and while all those positions have solid veterans playing them, having that flexibility at least opens options up for Tito to manage the lineup.
  22. YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! IT HAS BEGUN!!!
