  1. Ray Allen, but it's not happening.
  2. 4 point lead going into Q4. Uggh. Time to find out who gets branded a "choker" cuz one of these teams will.
  3. Come on guys, I don't think holding serve is going to be enough in LA in game 7... Sooner or later we're going to run into 5 minutes where Bryant takes the team on his back, I want a cushion before that happens or this team will have to play comeback ball.
  4. 4:55 BOS - R. Rondo steals the ball from K. Bryant 4:47 BOS - P. Pierce makes a 26-foot three-pointer from the right wing. Assist: R. Rondo *heh*
  5. Honestly, how the hell did this guy not get drafted as a late round flier? Every level he's played contact skills are freaking obvious, you mean to seriously tell me no one who scouted him picked up on that? There's nothing more fundamental than hitting the baseball with the bat, and Nava's always at least done that at an elite level, should have been enough to get someone to take him in the 40th round even with his age factored in.
  6. Wow, Scalabrine sighting. OK first half. NOW DON'T SIT BACK!!!
  7. AAAA scrub doing a nice little job for himself.

  9. Michael Bowden's put some decent starts in a row to bounce back from a rough April and May. His season numbers aren't yet good, but he has gotten his ERA down to 4.39, if he puts another couple solid starts together over the next couple weeks he could get it below 4, which considering his tough start to the season is fairly remarkable. He's gotta pretty much not struggle from here on out, but Bowden could be a factor as a potential callup by the All-Star Break if he keeps this string of great starts going, which also means he'll reaffirm his stock as a possible trade piece at the deadline -- a definite good thing considering the fact that we probably will need to make some kind of deadline move this year. Just for the record, the decision by soxprospects.com to drop Bowden all the way to #21 because of two bad months was short-sighted and reactionary, and reflects poorly on that website, especially when Lars Anderson, after 2 straight years of upper-level mediocricy, is squarely at #2.
  10. MHO, it's a "we'll give you one start and see where this goes" which isn't quite the same thing as it just being one start and that's it. It's at least partially dependent on the health of the other starters, especially Daisuke and Beckett. If they aren't healthy, Doubront stays on the roster.
  11. BTW I think how Lester does in games like this when you know he doesn't have his command says great things about what an ace he is. That is what they say about pitchers, you know they're good when they can get good results without their A stuff. Lester passed that test tonight.
  12. WIN. 3.0 games back
  13. Yankees and Rays lose.
  14. I HATE HATE HATE defensive indifference when it takes the force play off second base.

  16. ADIOS! Non-save situation
  17. Good game by Lester. Bard and Paps should carry it off.
  18. http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/mlb/news/story?id=5290229&campaign=rss&source=BOSTONHeadlines&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Welcome to Boston, Prince Felix.
  19. Worst case scenario they've taken a better team to 7 games, I'm not gonna be too upset. Disappointed sure, but I'm not going to be calling for anyone's head.
  20. How much can the guy possibly have left to prove in Tampa? I want to see this kid move up, he's 25 in A+ ball, with his numbers that's a crime, he's gonna be a 27, 28 year old rookie as it is even if they promote him now and he goes on to dominate AA and AAA. This kid isn't just a sideshow IMHO -- at least not so far. He's got a unique skillset so maybe it's hard to get a read on him and project him but it's playing out well to this point, and he deserves a promotion. Give the kid a shot to advance or release him.
  21. One thing sure, this isn't the worst he's ever looked and still rebounded to have a decent year. Wakefield I keep around because anyone else you could use to do his job is likely to be just as bad and Wakes works cheap. There's a comfort factor there and you have a fair idea what you're going to get. The fact that you're probably going to need a swingman over the course of a given season doesn't hurt either.
  22. It's hard to get concrete information about any injury quickly without dragging out an MRI machine or something. It's entirely possible that all either camp knows is that he's got forearm pain and maybe a preliminary diagnosis.
  23. RONDO WITH THE DAGGER!
  24. That's it. Show's over.
