  1. Yeah the apocalypse is definitely upon us. Ortiz gets a hit, Wakefield throwing a _______ , and Drew hits an important home run.
  2. Why does it have to be Wakefield, after all the time I've spent bashing him?
  3. Holy tits the world is gonna end.
  4. Wakefield? Is that you?
  5. Last season (only using Bay's Boston statistics, figured I'd grant him the extra lift they provide him just to make my point): Manny, in his Boston days alone, had Bay beat in OPS (Manny .927 to Bay .897) and OPB (Manny .398 to Bay .370), slugging % they are virutally identical. Manny had been pretty much dogging it in Boston, and still did better in a Sox uniform in 08 than Bay did. Manny, in his Dodger days - .489 OBP, .743 SLG%, 1.23 OPS. Annhilates Bay's numbers. This season, 8 games in, Bay has the advantage on Manny. the only area Manny is considerably down from previous years is slugging percentage. Meaning that Manny is for the most part keeping up his impressive pace, while Bay is just off to an unreal start.
  6. A-Rod's not better than Manny...
  7. Coco's Disciples drinks his own pee.
  8. That speaks more to the left field crop than it does to Bay. As far as LFs and hitters go, Manny blows Bay away.
  9. Maybe I exaggerated a bit, but Bay doesn't provide 1/20th the plate (or on-deck) presence that Manny does.
  10. Truth, Kilo is pwning.
  11. I agree that Bay absolutely pales in comparison to Manny. Its not like we gave Manny away, but Bay just isn't in the same universe.
  12. How many times must I say it? Our schedule out of the gate has been extremely tough, we opened against the AL champions, and the two pitchers we lost to (Kazmir and Garza) have an excellent history against us. Then we embarked on an early trip to the West Coast, and are playing subpar ball out there, due to facing a perenially good team (Angels) and a team that we are historically horrible against on the road (A's), in their houses. Taking those facts into consideration, these losses are little cause for concern. Does that make sense to you? We will forget all about these losses in June and July.
  13. Yeah, and ended up with putting up his worst numbers since joining the team.
  14. Nice try. All your dizzying intellectual analysis is correct, yet you forget that its 8 games into a 162 game schedule, and our schedule out of the break has been very tough. Two of the pitchers we faced in the Rays series have a very good history against us, the Angels are a good team, and we have a less than amazing history playing the A's in Oakland. In short, the team's bad numbers in the early going are pretty much meaningless.
  15. You don't want Dice-K on the mound at home for a start in the finale of a series that could go a long way towards getting us back on track?
  16. Its 8 games, you f***ing moron. This beginning stretch is the farthest thing from a big deal.
  17. I do rag on Theo sometimes when he makes (in my mind) a questionable move, but I would hope that he's smart enough to take Lowell over A-Rod regardless of what happens in 10/2007.
  18. As I said, if we take the next two, we'll have lost 2/3 at home to the reigning AL champions (we have a history of suckitude against Kazmir and Garza), and had a .500 west coast trip. Hardly the apocalypse.
  19. Hopefully these first two games will quiet the dipf***s who thought Lester was the new ace of the staff.
  20. If we take two out of three from the A's (shouldn't be too difficult)... we'll have lost a home series to the defending AL champions against their top three pitchers, two of which have a history of killing us, and we'll have had a .500 west coast trip. Not much to bitch about, in my book.
