  1. Its not over, and all these what ifs. Stop dwelling on this and move on. Red Sox have one of the best teams in the league be happy for that, we could be not even close and out of the play off race already if you like.
  2. Need to string together like 3 hits in a row this next inning get a couple back.
  3. Yeah I don't like Saito going out there just as much as the next guy. But he is a solid relief pitcher. I think it would be hard to find a bottom pitcher in any teams pen that is below that ERA
  4. Yeah but I wouldn't pin that only on Theo. The whole organization balked at the pay increase. I agree we should have put the extra money in him. The Red Sox have always done that Pedro and Damon are two I can think of off the top of my head where they just didn't pay the extra.
  5. Yeah Saito, Smoltz, Penny have all struggled. Luckily the Red Sox are good enough to overcome that. Baldelli has been solid imo. Coming into this season though I don't think anyone really though that Saito and Penny would do much. Smoltz has been the biggest disappoint so far.
  6. Why is it a failure. The Red Sox are leading the wild card and are only a game back from the Yanks. Sure the Rays are beating them up this game but there is still like 60 games left in the season.
  7. You guys the game isn't over its in the 3rd. Price hasn't been that special this year! Where is the optimism?
  8. Should have bunted Lowrie, then Ellsbury would have had an RBI right there maybe even a base hit.
  9. Bard should have been taken out after he made that error. I don't think Francona should have left him in.
  10. Easy guys...s*** happens.
  11. ^ that is what I though too.
  12. 2:46:03 PM EST ESPN: Peter Gammons is reporting that a deal for Toronto ace Roy Halladay is 'imminent'. It is unclear which prospects will be sent to Toronto in the deal, but a source close to Red Sox management acknowledged a verbal agreement has been reached. Sources believe the deal is based around [Clay] Buchholz, with the Red Sox sending two first-tier prospects and a third mid-tier. More details to follow. MOD NOTE: This is false.
  13. Now we are in trouble.
  14. I put this one on Papelbon more than anything, he is an elite closer and can't get three outs against the A's. Sure the defense was poor but still put it on Paps here.
  15. I want Paps to close games still. I am just saying that he has struggled all year and this time it caught up to him.
  16. At least get the lead runner and not havea guy on third ready to score.
  17. Exactly he has struggled all year. I saw a stat that said he has only had 7 1-2-3 out saves. out of 24 or whatever he has.
  18. They've been doing it all year, and other teams know it. That just puts more pressure on the defense and Papelbon to make the outs. I hate that and everytime they do it it pisses me off. Giving them second and third base cost a double play and the tying run.
  19. Papelbon should not give up three runs to the A's, one of the worst hitting teams in the league.
  20. This one is on Paps in my opinion. He finally let it catch up with the walks and giving up hits. YOu shouldn't give up those free passes that cost the Sox two runs.
  21. Don't blame this all on Green. Papelbon should not have gotten even close to this. He has struggled all year and this is what happens sometimes. Stupid to give runners a baseball. You don't give him third and that run doesn't score.
