    Here's the way I see it: It's great to have a guy that wants to stick around Boston, and has a deep respect and love for the fans and the history. Also, we get what is arguably his last year in his career, followed by what COULD be a stint as pitching coach in '09 once Farrell gets his shot at a mangerial job - IMO. That would be so great for the upcoming young arms. What a great thing for the Bosox!

    I have to admit that I was not a huge Tavarez fan until he showed a value in the clubhouse. He's one of those guys (like in '04) who you hate when he's on someone else's team, but you love him when he's on yours. Spot relief, and a positive dugout influence at a bargain. I'd say that's a good deal.
