Well, I remember the collapse of 1978 -- especially the Sept massacreand the playo-ff And the pain of 1972, 1974, 1986 and 2003. And I remember the euphoria of 1967 and 2004... We have nothing to do with it -- as much as we'd like to feel otherwise. Unless 38pitches is posting. So sit back and enjoy -- and hopefully we get the warm fuzzies of 67 and 04 .... Loving hurts worse than winning feels good. All part of being a Sox fan. At least they did it IN my lifetime. For awhile, I wasn't sure they would.

I think Terry FranCOMA is using Gagne in a way that would reflect on the genius of the Front office -- if he was successful. In other words, feature our brand new shiny toy, instead of using the bullpen the way it been used for most of the season. In Baltimore blown game #1 ... the Orioles were sending up mostly lefthanders to start the inning .... seem to me to be tailor-made for Okajima ... In Baltimore blown game #2 ... Okajima comes out with 1 on, 1 out .... why ??? He's been great all year ... and I don't want to hear this is the most innings he's ever pitched. Gagne compounds the problem by throwing SEVEN straight fastballs !!!! Wonder what kind of reception Gagne will get next time he enters a game at Fenway ?? Boos or Lugo-type encouragement cheers ???
