    It really gave me a scare when I heard about this earlier. At least we now know he's going to pitch, although it would've been nice to have him go twice if need be. Regardless, I'm confident Lester and Dice-K can do the job.

    Raining pretty good now. Can they just go ahead and cancel the evening game? Crappy weather.

    Tampa Bay got a big win today over Green Bay 30-21. The Packers actually led 21-20 with 2:30 to play, but the Bucs got a FG and picked off Aaron Rodgers and scored a few plays later. Tampa's kicker Matt Bryant should be the player of the week given the circumstances. He lost his 3 month old son on Wednesday, and flew back last night to play the game today. He went on to kick 3 field goals. I can't even imagine being in his situation but that is really courageous. I saw him crying a little bit during the game.

    Church flew out to the warning track with the tying runner on to end the game. That has to suck being eliminated by the Marlins on the last day of the season 2 years in a row.

    By the way, I want the Mets to get in the playoffs based on Jerry Manuel alone. That guy's unintentional comedy is off the charts. He could make me laugh at a funeral. "That... that was gangsta. That was some serious gangsta today."

    By the way, anyone have a clue what game times we're looking at here? With the first 2 games being on the West coast I'm guessing 8 or 9 central time. Surely it'll be a prime time game?

    So, anyone agree with me that Alabama is the #1 team in the nation now? I think they are better than the Sooners. Of course Oklahoma will be #1 in the polls come Monday, but if they played tomorrow I would pick the Tide.

    Florida really pissed this game away today. Awful.

    Florida has been really sloppy today against Ole Miss. Tied 17-17 late in the 3rd right now. The Gators have fumbled FIVE times.

    This was probably the shortest game thread of all time. Didn't get to watch the game (work) but sounds like Lester and co. did a great job tonight. Good to see.
