  1. I saw that rumor yesterday too, WMP to CWS, bring in Kielty. I do not know much about Kielty, but he does not seem to far off from WMP, and who comes back from CWS. Any truth to this?
  2. I'll buy with one addition. Game ends on a loud, warning track out by Ortiz, inches from the bullpen.
  3. The better question is, are you?
  4. What about the Borass and his coaches thing?
  5. Our saviour. Maybe they can use his head as a power bat. He might prove useful yet.
  6. What channel has the topless chick?
  7. That just about says it all for the last few nights. I would luv to see Pap in the starting rotation, but can't see that this year. Even if you get a good closer, or setup guy for Okinawa, you still need to stretch out Pap. So you send him to the Paw Sox for a few weeks and do not have him untill say what, mid August. And even then, you're still left with a few question marks: how is Pap going to perform as a starter, Oki as a closer, whom-ever as your setup guy. And all that with the Yanks picking up steam. You either gota go get another starter or bring up one of those kids and stop screwing around. Although, with the way things are going, maybe they should just go get Wayout Wasdon anad call it a day!
  8. Generally, the offense has let the pitching down. If you want to be watching these guys play into Oct. they have got to go get a power bat and improve the bench. Right now the team seams way to complacent, just coasting. I've never been a fan of moving Manny, but maybe there is a way of turning him around for some improved power. I would prefer to see Lugo or Drew go but with those contracts and poor performances, who would have them. Theo has got to do something to provide a spark.
  9. I agree that wwe have issues when animals get better treatment than humans. But what I find most concerning about this are some of the allegations against Vick ... the way he killed. It is bad enough to put a bullet in a dog's head because it lost. It is another to bash its head onto the ground, drown etc. That just shows what a nut he is. I really do not want that guy running around untill he really snaps.
  10. Agreed, middle relievers are the bottom of the barrel anyway, and ours have not been bad. If you want to light a fire under this team's ass get a bat or a starter!
  11. I had that same thought, flipping Manny and Papi to jump start Manny. They've got to do something and sooner than latter. If he really is broke, they'll need a bat before the deadline. I'll do my part tonight at Fenway. Manny always seems to hit HRs when I'm in the beerline. So I'll go early and often. At 2 for $14, I may need a mortgage.
  12. I understand he twisted his right knee in NY last year and is expecting to have surgery in the offseason. Seems consistent with his lack of power, and the explanaition (lower body issues), but that is not coming from an official source - Herald.

    Hello:

  Theo has made some good moves, but I have grown sceptical of his FA signings, and tired of the turnover each year at short.
  14. I was not too disapointed when Nomah got traded. Over the years he grew on me like a wart. He put up great numbers but never brought home the gold. And that year he came back all ballooned up, hmmm. Probably explains why he was injured so frequently the last few years with the Soxs. Still he was "the Golden Boy" and I have many better memories of him in his earlier years. And the way he was run out of town was classless.
  15. I put a stupid post up in a stupid thread. Yeah, ex-f***ing-cuse me.
  16. Hopefully, Drew and Lugo will continue to look up. But I need to seem more before I call them ahything but failures. The decision to go after those two (and the high turn over at Short in the past few years) are Theo's issues not Tito's Theo is the problem here.
  17. I agree; of the lack of power in the three to five holes in the Sox lineup, I'd put my money on Manny bust'en out in the second half. Especially with the news on Ortiz this AM.
  18. I like Tima, simmilar to Eck. That is behind a desk, not the mound.
  19. There is a nasty rumor circulating that Luggie and NancyDrew both suck.
  20. To clarify, I'm not looking to blame anyone but look for answers. If I were I would agree that Theo's decisions to bring Drew and Lugo here were bad ones. In the first half there were holes up and down the lineup and/or players not performing as expected. Certainly the most important of these are the power spots and neither Ortiz, Manny or Drew have come through. The lack of runs is not just Manny. Drew failing to provide protection because Manny and Ortiz have left nothing to protect skips over the fact that the neither the 3, 4 and 5 holes have produced as expected. My point is we have good starting and BP pitchingand a 10+ game lead, but to be effective in the post season we need some offense. It is a bit short sighted to say based on a sample of the last one or two weeks that these guys have come around when 1 is still sub-mendoza and the others are still not hitting for power. Why?
  21. "The day the fish pay Manny's contract is the day I remove my testicles, toss them in a blender, mix them with protein shake mix, and take a sip." There is a nice thought.
  22. Way back in Spring Training "all" were all talking about how this team's weakness was the bullpen and the upside was the potent offense and starting rotation. Now the offense is in bad need of a viagra prescription, while the bullpen has been the saving grace. So how do we fix it ... go out and get another arm for the BP ... "BRILLIANT"!
