  1. He's another Theo BUST
  2. i'm not a troll. i just don't think that intentionally tanking 2005 by going with matt clement over pedro was a good move, and i think that the discounted price of $52 mill for 4 years of petey was a good bargain. but i'm a sox fan and i love this team, even if our GM sucks and too many of the fans are clement lovers.
  3. the thing with lester that scares me is he had a whip that was among the worst in baseball last year. he had runners on base all day. that catches up to kids eventually. lester needs to work on keeping the runners off base. he has some serious poise, and buckles down under pressure, so i like his potential a lot. just has to step up from the start of the inning through the end, and not just when he has RISP.
  4. gee, my opinions, which are correct, are spam. but those who are littering the board with talk of matt clement being better than pedro martinez are perfectly fine? i've apologized for the earlier barrage.
  5. remy is rarely critical. he's about 99% puffery when talking about the Sox. still not as bad as the YES commentators. Those guys are the biggest homers. But Jerry isn't far behind. anyway, I wish Trupe were still here, he's so much better than the new assclowns.
  6. in 2003, theo refused to trade casey fossum for bartolo colon. why? bartolo was old and washed up, and fossum was the future. you think he suddnely changed his mind when a 38 year old who was on the DL named curt became available? No. Lucchino told him to make that move. Theo has shown one thing: He will not trade young pitching prospects for veterans. that is his golden rule (hansen for oswalt?). And Foulke was Theo's move? What? Theo hates paying money for closers. His first act of genius was "closer by committee". But the next year he went out and bought the most expensive closer on the market? Again, no f'ing way!! Lucchino. And I don't think it was Theo refusing to trade Manny. Theo wanted Manny GONE. That, again, was Lucchino insisting. Theo did trade Nomar, I'll give him credit for that. But those other moves were Larry. It wasn't until post 2004 when Theo finally received control of the team, and he's been blunder after blunder since.
  7. How can you give him a solid B? He won with mainly Duquette guys, and Foulke and Schilling were Lucchino moves. We haven't won a playoff game since he dismantled the 2004 team, and he's set records for most money spent without a playoff win (2005) and largest payroll to miss the playoffs (2006). That is horrible, and is more like D- than a solid B. We should get a good GM.
  8. Is it true that Trupe was fired for being too objective, and the new guys were seen as PR guy replacements? You know, the type of commentators who could find the positive side in being down 10-0 in the third inning? I know I'll get killed for this, but I can't stand Remy and Orsillodogg the way the are always puffing everything. We need guys like McDonough who aren't afraid to be objective. But with Trupe losing his job for being TOO objective, it is going to be tough to find an announcer comfortable with being honest.
  9. Trupe was the man. O'Brien puts me to sleep. And you can tell that Joe HATES working with O'Brien. I heard accidents on 93 are up 100% from drivers falling asleep listening to O'Brien try to call a Red Sox game!!
  10. theo should have traded him last july for roy oswalt instead of crying to the press about not having enough money to buy a good team. that's where theo screwed up with hansen. but back to the original issue. is hansen done? or is he going to make a return? does he have any value in a trade at all?
  11. another Theo Blunder. When is Theo going to be fired?
  12. Does this guy have any trade value left? Is he going to be able to help the big league team at all? What is going on with Hansen?
  13. JD Drew is the prototypical Theo Blunder. FAlls in love with a bad player, and thinks that giving him a lot of money makes him good.
