  1. In my opinion, I deem Drew as "Okay" he can play good when he wants. But he really is overrated. He's not the superstar we were promised during the off-season. And to be honest, I still miss Trot. So far he's doing great out in Cleveland. But who's to say he'd be good if he were still with us? But atleast he doesn't have a huge ego. And certainly didn't coast us $14 Million a year.
  2. The Sox will win the AL East. The Sox will win the ALCS The Sox will win the 2007 World Seires. Nuff' Ced
  3. They're calling him gay yet the sing a VILLAGE PEOPLE pardoy? Right... Still, I don't pay to go to games just to be insulted and interrupted like that. Yankee fans are *******s.
  4. Yeah, tweak the bullpen a bit or get some good bats.
  5. Honestly? I'd feel ashamed, angry, betrayed, and down right hurt.
  6. Once a juicer always a juicer. I don't want to ever see him in a Sox uniform.
  7. You set a list of players in your draft center that you want, then select "Ready to Draft" and in a few days your team will be automatically set and put on your roster, then you adjust it to where you see fit. Now you may not get all the players you want because others will have the same player selected. But it's easier and less time consuming.
  8. Well, just assume your role isn't to draft the players, you are just the manger after all. Consider it a challenge.
  9. Ok I f***ed up that league so he's a new one. Join this one. League ID#: 341209 League Name: Talk Sox Fans Password: xboxlivetag It's autopick draft so no worrying on making a draft date. Only other addition is I've added 5 starting pitcher slots so you won't have to worry about updating the rotation every day, you'll have a starter each game. I've also added 3 Relief Spots for an extra closer if wanted. That's about it. Join up!
  10. I found out it doesn't start until June 19th so I set the draft time to June 3rd.
  11. I started a fantasy league on Yahoo for the Mid-season sign ups. No prize, just bragging rights. It's the American League East ID#: 340388 Password: xboxgamertag 14 Teams, 13 slots open. Standard rules, live auto-pick, head to head, etc.
  12. Why should the MLB apologize? Sure they could have done better testing but after decades of it never really being an issue and players are trusted to have the right judgment, why should you test test and test? Now that it's out, testing should get stricter, but people like Giambi need to shut up, and get a lifetime ban. And Bonds just needs to admit he juiced, but he never will. All he cares about is himself.
  13. Because I'd never want to PLAY in it as a ball player. I'd love to go watch the Sox play there now, yes. And I never said it's ugly, but if I wanted to play in Boston, I wouldn't want the Green Monster there and Williamsburg to spoil any chances at good plays.
  14. Did you read all of it? I said Fenway is a beautiful park. I love it's looks, but it's not my favorite based on the hitter/pitcher design. Fenway DOES have the oldstyle awe. But I don't think I'd enjoy playing in it game wise.
  15. I'd have to agree with Ted Williams, I'd take Fenway, Green Monster and all and throw it in the River Charles and build a whole new park in it's place. That's not to say I don't like it. It's a beautiful park. But it's a pitcher's worst nightmare. An ordinary double into leftfield in another park is a solo homer at Fenway because of the Green Monster. Not to mention "Williamsburg" for the lefties.
  16. Probably the greatest aspect of baseball has to be the park in which it is played. From the old wooden ballparks such as the Huntington Grounds to the new retro old look like the new Busch Stadium, ballparks have always keep the game of baseball alive. So what's your favorite ballpark? Past or present, or both. My all time favorite ballpark is Ebbets Field. I just love it. It had that awesome old style awe which many parks have lost today. Sad shame it was demolished, I would have wanted to go see it.
  17. On May 12th, Yogi Berra turned 82. He was one of the good Yankees. Ha ha. Happy birthday and many more Yogi!
  18. I was reading an old article on Curt Schilling, and found an unrelated pic without a caption or note or any form of info. Here's the pic http://cache.boston.com/images/bostondirtdogs//2004/CS_YH2.jpg Why is Father Curt in a Yankees hat? Does anyone know the story behind this??? It's new to me.
  19. Just the finger needed for his damn curveball. Well this is exactly what people were predicting. We were going fine but a single injury can bring us down. Beckett is on day-to-day right now but if that finger doesn't heal fast, we've lost our best pitcher for a few games. Most likely a 15 Day DL.
  20. This thread is hereby dedicated to the power house pitcher Josh Beckett. After a 5.01 ERA last year, Beckett is truely a come back kid with a 7-0 win-loss record, 2.51 ERA, 40Ks, and only 10 walks. Beckett as of now has Cy Young award written all over him. Let's hope he can continue his undefeated streak and make 8-0 and some more Ks when he pitches again, despite his recent injury. Beckett has really shown his stuff this season, but let's hope this torn skin doesn't affect him. GO BECKETT!
  21. After seeing the book thread, I went on some sites to see what kind of reviews the book got, found this. From Wikipedia, not sure on the reliability. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faithful:_Two_Diehard_Boston_Red_Sox_Fans_Chronicle_the_Historic_2004_Season
  22. Manny being Manny. Funny stuff. I can surely see some immature little Yankee fan having a field day with that for a soon to be "YouTube" video of the Red Sox being gay, and that clip being shown... God I love this country.
