  1. I tip my cap to him. RIP. He will be missed. I remember one time a while ago, I was up late watching Gameshow Network, and it was an old episode of "What's My Line?" and they had a "Mystery Guest" on that episode, turns out it was Rizzuto and I watched it, looked like he had a good time on that show.
  2. Wakefield pitches a 2 hit gem, Lugo continues to hit the ball, and the Sox take a win. Get Ortiz back to full strength and we'll dominate into September for sure.
  3. There goes the no-no.
  4. If it wasn't for his shoulder, that ball would have been gone.
  5. Ortiz has to be hurting right now.
  6. That was a bad call.
  7. Wakefield pitches 4 hitless innings, and I just heard someone on NESN snort like a pig...
  8. Drew in center? Where have I been? Where's Coco?
  9. My God what is going on in Manny's head?
  10. I've been busy the past month. I know Lugo has been hitting, but not as much as I knew of. Hope he can just keep it up. But then again, it's gonna take a lot more than a Lugo double to make up for an Ortiz strikeout.
  11. Lugo gets a double?! Nice, and he's 2-2! Maybe he's finally settling in!
  12. Glad to hear the voices of NESN again! Wakefield's doing exceptionally well, so far. Hasn't allowed a hit yet, granted it's only the bottom of the 3rd but hopefully he can keep that consistancy. Let's get a win. I think we can sweep the D-Rays.
  13. I would have laughed at that. But even since it happened, I'm not worried about it. Still some good games left and we still meet your Bronx Bombers a few more times for some pure baseball.
  14. I'm on board. 70-47, first place since April, 45 more games to go, TheKilo is right. This team is doing good. I don't think it's the team it was hyped up to be in the preseason, but they're still doing exceptionally well despite the few blunders that have taken place. As far as Gange is concerned, I think he's just getting use to the new club. He'll catch on quick, I hope, and will help us dominate all the way up and through the postseason. And it was good to see Schilling faired well today, he didn't do so bad. I think we just need to get the wood cracking again. I don't know if it's just me, but it seems half the time they swing too anxiously and miss, flyout, or groundout, or don't swing to take a suspected ball and end up striking out. And you'd think having Ortiz and Ramirez would help, but surprisingly the Sox have been able to hold up top without the full strength of the Ortiz/Manny combo. Hopefully they'll get better and can carry us to a pennant. All in all, I like the team this year, I really do. I'm in with them all the way, win or lose, it's been a great season and I think they have the potential to go all the way.
  15. Of all people to do it, it's Millar, a fomer Sox. Eh good for him, bad for us.
  16. Yes sir, I am. And I'll admit it. Anyone jucies they should be out, ANYONE. Can't ever know for sure, But you don't see people holding up posterboard syringes when Ortiz or Manny come to the plate. Unless they're a stupid Anabolic All-Star fan just trying to get cheap payback.
  17. OH MY f***ING CHRIST! I JUST TURNED MLB TV ON TO SEE PEDROIA HOMER! HELL YEAH!
  18. You'd honestly want Bonds on the Sox roster? I'm sorry but that's not right. I don't care if he puts numbers on the board, I don't want a juicer on the Sox team. It's bad enough we had Canseco.
  19. Actually did happen at a Zepyhrs game about a month ago. The guy didn't die. I was right behind the Z's dugout and a foul ball went straight into the stands, over my head, and beaned the guy a few rows up and over directly in the side of the head. He just sat there for a few moments before some staff members came and took him away. It sounded worse than it was. You could here a huge "THUD" when it hit his head. He came back about five minutes later, a bit shooken up but he was completely fine. One of the guys in the dugout popped his head over and looked at me, I think it was Sandy Alomar Jr, and he was like "What happened?" so I explained it to him and he couldn't believe the guy survived either.
  20. RIP. I couldn't even imagine having that happen to me, on either end. It's tragic. But he died doing what he loved. Baseball. That makes me recall a story my grandpa told me once when he was in the minors. He was a catcher and one day inbetween innnings while the pitcher was warming up, the home plate umpire tapped my grandpa on the back and said "I don't feel good. Take over." And the umpire dropped dead on the spot from a heart attack. Sad to lose the man, but my grandfather knew him well and said that's how he would have wanted it, during baseball.
  21. July 21, 1928 Jimmie Foxx (Philadelphia) becomes the first player to hit a ball over the double-decked left-field stands of Shibe Park.
